  1. that's weird! we didn't arrive til about 7 and we got creemores. they ran out after that so we got heinekens [still $7 but not a tallboy], then they ran out of heinekens. i too was happily surprised at how much i enjoyed the zappa show, considering i only know a smattering of songs [and they didn't play any of those]. good times.
  2. a tip about beer lines: last night, during TV on the radio and the hip, the line ups to the right of the main stage were really long, but there were no line ups to the left of the main stage. it could have been just a fluke of last night but it could also be helpful to know!
  3. no way jose. i have never had a pedicure but i think they use a razor to cut dead skin off your feet. ewwww.
  4. we took our pup out to constance bay for a little bbq, sun and sailing! it was nice to not have to sleep for the whole day after, but i definitely missed that place!
  5. be careful if they want to use the razor on your feet. d_rawk's mom got cut by her pedicurist last year and it was very painful and didn't heal for months. eeek!
  6. i have tried a few restaurants in our new area [mainly in little italy]; but i haven't ventured onto wellington/richmond really at all yet. it is my parents' anniversary. i seem to make a post every time they are in town. anyway i want to take them somewhere nice that's in the neighborhood. nice but not too fancy or expensive. i think the gastropub would be a bit on the pricey side or i would go there for sure. any thoughts? PS i did sift through a bunch of old restaurant threads as well as restaurant thing and ottawafoodies.com before i posted!
  7. heya! in fact it is for mojitos. i have a farewell party to attend and this is the drink of choice of the guest of honour.
  8. i have to buy a whole bunch of fresh mint. is there a particular chinese grocery i should go to/avoid?
  9. manuel antonio/quepos has a really nice beach and national park. a little more touristey than some other spots i think.

yep i think it's the same owner as kinki too. i've been there twice for dinner and both times it was quite nice! however i found that i liked the looks of the lunch menu the most and you're not allowed to order that after 4. must go for lunch this summer!
  12. cool! someone from work suggested that place too. thanks!
  13. we have a young neighbour [7 years old] who we think could really benefit from getting into some martial arts classes. does anyone have any suggestions for these kinds of classes in ottawa? thanks

yep we always praise her when she goes outside. ms z., it seems like we have settled on banjo, after all that! i really enjoyed seeing all the name suggestions, but there wasn't really one we could agree on other than banjo. plus we already told the neighbours that. hmmmmm.... we did move in march, did you know that? we're not on gilmour anymore, we're on irving [between preston and parkdale]. we are outside with her a lot so if you're ever in that area take a look down the street!

  16. my favourite baby shower gift is robeez shoes. i realize this is not related to their interests, but they are the cutest little shoes, they are [or at least were] canadian made, and there is tons of variety. you can buy them at mrs tiggywinkles. i recently bought my friend's baby girl the ones with the flaming guitar on them. so cute! http://www.robeez.com/Department.aspx?DeptID=223&PriceCat=1&Lang=EN-US

hux i can't see the picture is it linked from facebook? stupid work filters... brad stella is a neat name! we're thinking we might just stick with our original 'nena banjo' [banjo for short]. but i don't think we've decided for sure for sure.

so many good suggestions! i love it. ollie: nena banjo has been her interim name between the time we picked her out and the time we got to take her home. we are still considering 'banjo', we're just not 100% sold on it yet! she's getting more and more bouncy, banjo just might suit her.
  22. happy birthday sweet pea! thanks for doing puppy duty this morning.

heather - she's supposed to stay small - from what i've seen of pugs, they don't stay so cute. i agree about the tough name thing... i keep thinking of girly names but gritty ones are definitely more fun!
