  1. hey sharon! if you're interested, we have a couple of seasons of cesar on DVD. they're usually entertaining at least!
  2. wow. these people have somehow managed to make this situation even more horrendous. just wow.
  3. i hear ya db. the comments section for the globe is the same.
  4. that sounds awesome jay! lots of envy here. looks like he will be back your way in november: 11/8/08 Vancouver,BC Chan Centre for the Arts 8.00PM 604-822-2697 DG with John Sebastian 11/9/08 Victoria, BC Mcpherson Playhouse 8.00PM 250-386-6121 DG with John Sebastian
  5. oh! i didn't know there were separate ottawa and rideau rivers. tee hee!
  6. thanks for the word caroline! the elmdale is a very short walk from our place. feel free to stop by on your way if you like!
  7. ALSO [heheh] i get a small, sad kick out of AD's comment about the rideau river's water quality... wasn't 2006 the summer that they accidentally spilled tons of sewage into the river? and didn't tell anyone??
  8. thought i would revive this thread since it is that time of year! i was thinking today would be a good beach day til i just noticed clouds rolling in and the forecast for thunderstorms.... also listed on the city of ottawa website are brittania beach, westboro beach and petrie island. also there is andrew haydon park out carling -- is this the same as britannia beach?
  9. cool! our sail number is 88. have fun everyone!
  10. looks beautiful SS! congrats
  11. probably some of you have already discovered this website, but it is great for finding music that you've heard in commercials, on tv shows, video games, movies, etc. www.adtunes.com very helpful!
  12. here's a silver lining: the more little quakes they have, the smaller the "big one" will be when it comes.
  13. i think the d_rawk and myself will also be in!
  14. i'm pretty sure asparagus and jennie are going. every year it is on the same weekend as CORK!! so i can even see wolfe island from where i am, but i have early mornings saturday and sunday so i can never make it.
  15. i used to love seeing the dalai lamas! so much dancey fun. karyn read and i once just about killed ourselves driving up to whistler in a blizzard to see them... the show was great though! and i think that was the last time i saw them, so i'm glad we made the trek. no live shows here. but i still keep in touch with larry, very sporadically. i don't remember what he played! i think he's a chef now, still in sask. speaking of long lost bands from out west, remember recipe from [for?] a small planet? ohhh rafael.
  16. you don't know this puppy... she is a menace!
  17. i like this part: "MacAusland didn't attend the event, but some of his friends did. One said she was so disgusted, she left after 40 minutes." 40 minutes doesn't sound like she was in a big rush to me.
  18. i was very pleasantly surprised to see him with the band! obviously i do not follow panic news. haven't seen him since his days with ABB. amazing!
  19. that's a nice shot of dweezil. i couldn't tell for sure from where we were standing, but i was pretty sure he was wearing a grin. always fun to see. thanks again for the review todd! i feel your pain about reelin', although i didn't commit much time to steely dan i have to admit. round 4 will soon be upon us, yahoo!
