  1. I brought my Border Collie into a room using a backpack. We didn't realize the place wasn't pet friendly till after check-in which was 4 a.m., 24 hours into a 36 hour drive. Anyways, turned out the room was RIGHT next to the front desk, so, we had to do what we had to do. He loved it... The next morning we walked him out in full tail-wagging pride style. Edit to add: This is to show StoneMTN is right and it's good to check ahead.

  4. I must be out of the loop, but I only recognize about 5 people/bands on that list...
  5. Way off base, but sooo good.... Shawshank is a timeless flic...
  6. Sorry, I was being sarcastic. That's interesting though. I'd imagine the USPS, after all that, isn't too psyched that UPS is using their tune... P.S. That National Executive Conference must be slamming...

  8. Ironically' date=' the commercial is for UPS.[/quote'] Weird, I don't see the connection... Maybe that's why they dropped the vocals. Thanks for the heads-up...
  9. Happy Belated... Hope it was a good one... Enjoy the next three quarter centuries...

  11. Glad to hear you landed yourself in a good, or at least, healing situation. As rough as it may be, when you hit rock bottom, it's only uphill from there. Best of luck and hold steady.
  12. Ya'll have me backed into a corner here. I'm just going to turn my chair around and cry for a bit... Phorbsie: Does your post remind you of those "Sthephen Dion is not a Leader" commercials by chance?
  13. On a quick search I found nothing, but I'm not convinced. I'm not calling plagerism or anything, I'm just pointing it out. And 'Burnout' is an excellent tune, I have no doubt Doug is a thourough song writer and that this is a coincidince; I just know I've heard it before. I want to say it's a trad. tune that Yonder covered a lot, but again, I'll be back when I actually look it up.
  14. I thought it was a little watered down to be honest. Not suprised, but, it could have been much better. Copeland was still raging it though.
  15. That's what it says in the album liner, but trust me, I've heard too many bluegrass covers from people way before the John Henry's to believe that. And, if he re-wrote it, he could have gone out on a limb a little more in my opinion...
  16. Last night was really good. Good to see all the cats who made it out, and I have to say, they were a little tighter than usual, maybe because they, for once, had been playing consecutive shows? Who knows, well done though... Edit to Add: Does anyone else have a problem with the fact that they claim to have written "Ain't Gonna Drink No More" ? I don't know who wrote it, I just know it wasn't them, and on 'Sweet As The Grain' they label themselves as the authors. And, 'No More Rock and Roll,' sounds way too much like 'Cold Jordan' for my liking... That's all....
  17. Just get one of these bad boys: Panasonic 500 CD changer. It's taking the iPod by storm...
  18. It's hard to say. Let's say you've got yourself a 30 hour drive from the east coast to the mountains, everytime you stop for gas, you fill up the thermos. We're talking 13-15 cups in a day... easy... On average though, I try not to drink more than 2 or 3...
  19. I'll be generic here, but: Phish: Big Cypress; for many reasons... Disco Biscuits: 12/31/02 - E-Factory, Philly; 1: Floes > Mindless Dribble 1 > Floes , 7-11 > Mulberry's Dream , The Very Moon > Spy 2: Shelby Rose > Little Lai 2 > Endo 2 > Hot Air Balloon 2 > Above The Waves 2 > Run Like Hell > Astronaut > Rock Candy > Save The Robots > Rock Candy > Astronaut > Run Like Hell 3: Svenghali > Munchkin Invasion 3, Crickets > The Very Moon 4 > Crickets , Home Again 1 Completes 12/30 version. 2 Excerpt only. Part of 'History of the Disco Biscuits'. 3 Completes 12/29 version. 4 With 'Shem-Rah Boo' tease. why? because a) you hate the disco biscuits, and it was the downright nastiest shit I've ever seen them pull off, and I've seen them pull off some rediculously disgusting shit. This is tough, I think I've seen too many shows to narrow it down to those two, so, that's what you get off the top of my head... I'd have to give an honorable mention to stumbling upon Cyro Baptista and Beat the Donkey late night at 10,000 Lakes, in the right headspace for that kind of madness. Organic Jungle insanity....

  21. A thief who has no respect for another persons property. Or, hate to say it, a thief smart enough to know no one else is wandering around in -25 degree weather. Even the pOlice...
  22. Word up. Note to self: always know a little more about a band you're going to write off as shitty... Again, back to your regular scheduled programming...
