Its a great site Mike, check into it. Lots you'd like I'm sure.

Just for the record, I'm not in support of this guy bulding this, now that I have read what he's all about, but I stand by my post that Hamilton could use a bigger venue then 77, which has a nasty rep as it is and is known for violence and even death and that we need an alternative to Hamilton Place. I believe we would see more bands come through if we had a venue like this, but I'd rather it be bulit by someone else. Anyway, I'm just talking to myself, so take what you will from this...
  4. Well, it does say it would be Massey Hall sized, based on HoB venue in Dallas, not that it would be the same size. And I'm sure there would be more then just the old buliding torn down, which covers pretty much the entire section from Hess to Queen almost, that and the space behind it would be more then enough in my opinion. I would imagine since he owns the building behind it as well it would come down, like what was planned for the 18-storey condo originally. Who knows though, my point is more that Hamilton could use a venue that holds more then 700-800 people (77 Club) and caters to a more concert going crowd opposed to what Hamilton Place or Theater Aquarius caters to.
  5. I'm not a basketball fan, but I totally agree with ya Jaimoe. Thats another thing I think would make this type of venue work, normally Hamilton Place shows stop serving alcohol by 9-10pm (earlier some shows), don't serve during the show and the shows are usually over by 11-11:30pm at the latest. having a venue that has shows that run later then midnight would be a serious plus, especially on a weekend. Also, one peeve of mine about Hamilton Place is you are never allowed to stand during the show, let alone dance - I may not dance, but with my back problems, sitting all night isn't something I enjoy so I usually have to go stand in the lobby for 5-10 minutes missing the show and can't even step out for s smoke since the doors are closed and locked during the show. I believe stuff like that is a big reason more bands don't play there. Hopefully if this venue is bulit, they won't follow suit.

  7. I see your what your saying Marc0, but I think *if* its more like a HoB venue, it'll be considerably different then Hamilton Place and Theater Aquarius, both are nice venues, but neither really serve the same concert going demographic like HoB venues do.
