  1. So glad I check here one last time before crashin... Thats D, you rock bro.
  2. I'm not sure if that part was in reference to my reply, if it wasn't, my apology's. That issue was referring to me. I would love to attend Telluride again. But financially I just wouldn't be able afford it. Plain and simple. Tottenham's line up may not be on par with Telluride's, but I know it's still a solid line up (as I know you know) and will without a doubt be a blast. No regrets.
  3. Yeah, but aren't pencils/pen & paper "readily available" as well? edit o add I dunno man, I have no issues with ya but I really find this out right hate for technology puzzling.
  4. My take? Cost. A virtual recording studio/gear etc has got to be a heck of lot cheaper then a real one. Now, I'm only guessing as I don't know what an ipad or recording studio, keyboards, drum kit etc really cost. Sort of like using google maps to plan a route or trip. I mean, you can just buy a map and carry it with you. It's got to be cheaper and easier then lugging a laptop around.
  5. Does twitter offer RSS feeds? It doesn't seem to work with google reader..at least for me. I have a twitter account, but really don't use it as I never have anything to say I feel anyone wants to know about..much like facebook - which for me is really just my own "Whats Greg listening to" thread.

    Brew your own beer?

I'm about to get into to this with a friend of mine. We were discussing it just last weekend. He's made some really cool beers over the years. He makes it from scratch (buys the yeasts I believe) and brews it in his basement. I don't know much about the process to be honest, but I know his last batch of beer he used a ton of the cherries from his yard - man it was strong and tasty, no idea on % but I can safely say three bottles had our heads spinning. We both prefer more english/euro style beers (ales/stouts etc) so were going that route - I'll have to post back when we get started. Hopefully later this month. [color:red][edit to add] The book he told me to search out was called "The joy of brewing" (1st edition) apparently it's a really informative book and I need to get reading so I understand what were are doing as my brew will be just that, mine and he's only going let me do it at his house as he has the huge pots for boiling and other gear for it and the space. My house just won't work.
  7. I know a few folks who say the same thing about toppings, but I think they are referring to a single slice, I dunno mine always have ample toppings, more if I ask for it. Myself, I find the regular/thick crust is fine when getting a single slice, but for a whole pizza I find I can eat like two slices before I start feeling bloated from the dough. Thin crust (usually whole wheat) I could easily eat an entire large pizza if I wanted to before feeling that, if at all. Personally I compare it to making a baloney sandwich with 3" thick slices of french bread - all filler and no substance. I did get a bit of a laugh though about the too messy part. I'd wager that those gravy drenched slices are messier then any thin crust...I've never had to use a fork to eat mine.

  9. I'm lucky, the Pizza Nova is a mere 3 min drive from my house. Mine is usually first on the list when delivered. I usually do pick up though. What I like is that they guy who runs it has gotten to know me, so I've got a good thing going with him. I'll call my order in and he'll tell me how long it'll be before they get to making it, then I'll head over and they wait until I get there to throw it in the oven, so its hot as hell when I get it. One time I was dying for some and didn't have the wheels so I walked over, when the guy found out I was walking he waited until a delivery guy showed up before throwing the pizza in the oven and then had the delivery guy drop me off at home (free). Can't complain about that service.
  10. I'm sure you Toronto folks will cringe and tell me I'm nuts but the only place I get my pizza from now is a Pizza Nova here in in the Hammer - seriously, the one near my house actually rocks. I was surprised. Chicken Florentine, thin crust, well done... Pretty much the only pizza I'll eat anymore if I'm not making it myself.

    G20?

Was about to post just that. It ran again late last night on CBC news-world. Interesting piece, good to hear from some of the folks detained instead of hearing a newspapers interpretation of their statements.

  13. Of all the Tom Wilson gigs' date=' you picked one of the very few recent ones that I didn't play Greg![/quote'] I was hoping you were going be there. It's been awhile since we crossed paths. I might be in some of the later vids, but for the beginning of the show I was sitting down. Those were recorded from my table by one of the other couples I went to the show with. You'll see me (or hear me) in some of his other vids as well. (Doug feaver etc) [edit to add] I can be seen briefly in the 'Are you ready for the country' (0:43 I raise my glass..lol) & 'Matchbox' vids, to left of the screen, blue plaid shirt, grey beard and striped toque.
  14. Still thinking on going to this. The two folks I'll be traveling with want to see Bachman, but I dunno about the pricing for single day, and considering two of us will without a doubt, be well into the beers, I doubt my buddy's old lady would be very happy having to put up with us for the drive home, especially the same night..she had a hard enough time with us after Tom Wilson in Oakville 2 weeks back.

    Oscar Picks

Very good movie for sure, but for some reason made me feel really sad/low/depressed. I can't put my finger on what it was exactly but something about that story seemed to connect with me and in all honestly that doesn't make me feel any better either. But, that's off topic - movie is a couple years old I guess. I'll probably check out True Grit eventually. That's one I do recognize because I liked the original. I enjoy Bridges most of the time and Damon seems to have become a more interesting actor (at least to me) the last few years.

I'm soooo out of touch with the movies out today. I don't recognize any of the titles ya'll have been speaking of. Hell, I just saw the Wrestler like 4 days ago, sad movie.
  18. Do I need an account to download this? Is it invite based? The site isn't very easy to navigate, and I may have missed something, but it appears you need an account. Signing up is free (I did on a dummy email), but it appears you have to purchase credits to be able to d/l the podcasts.

    Beck's Record Club

Thanks for the bump NW - I forgot about this.
  20. I'd go on that tour, but only if I could stay completely drunk the entire time.
  21. Personally,. I don't get what everyone sees in this, but for those who can't wait for the podcast to be uploaded..... I guess I should mention, that this is NSFW. Although I would imagine everyone knows.. Part One Part two Part three

Telnet is disabled in Vista and Windows 7 by default. Here's how to set it up with those OS's. To turn Telnet on: 1. Control Panel > Programs > Programs and Features > Turn Windows Features on or off 2. A new window will pop up, scroll down and check the "Telnet Client" box and click 'OK'. 3. Open a CMD prompt: type > telnet towel.blinkenlights.nl 4. Hit enter, enjoy. Repeat steps #1 & #2 > un-check 'telnet client' box, and hit 'ok' to disable telnet afterward if you want.
