  1. There's an Organic Burger stand over at the River stage. Matt and I each had one last night and they were pretty tasty, a good size, with a whole wheat bun and were only $5.00. Definitely agree that the setup this year is better and the new stage is great.
  2. Great review! And that's too funny about the Disco Biscuits... Sounds like good stories and memories were made all around.
  3. I still think it's funny they're having a Moncton Rock night...
  4. As a new mom, I definitely recommend a carrier/sling of some sort. There are so many different kinds out there that are useful for all sorts of occasions. They're fairly expensive ($50-$100+) so it's often hard fork out the money on one let alone a couple, but they're sooo great! Especially when their wee little and not too heavy yet. I know I would have loved to gotten a few more at my shower..haha. Good luck Steph
  5. My friends have a pug, her name is Lola. I like Dakota, or Jasper, and Banjo is really cute too.
  6. That article had so much positivity in it, and made me really happy. I'm glad Tom Marshall shared all that and I'm excited to hear what the two of them have collaborated. Steph
  7. Ouch, make sure you rest and have people tending to your needs, don't want to make matters worse. Happy healing Steph
  8. I looooooove cookies, definitely my favorite treat I think. Nothing beats homemade, fresh out of the oven choco chip. And homemade smores. Ohhh yeah But when your jonesin' and don't feel like baking, I'd go for Chewy Chips Ahoy I also get really addicted to Loakers wafers, chocolate hazelnut covered, and Tortina's original. It's really hard living to close to Luciano's, I can't leave there without buying a package, and it's gone very shortly after I get home, lol. Sooo bad yet sooooo good
  9. Definitely agreed AWeejig. EXCELLENT show, great crowd, a band always worth seeing. Seemed to have got onto the right start for their tour. Great meeting you too, welcome to the Ottawa experience! Oh and d_jango, the dancer is definitely mesmerizing, but be careful, that hunky sax player and her are an item. Not surprising, such beautiful people they are Ciao, Steph
  10. Right on Heather, good work That article hurt.
  11. mattm here... the designer or the host company has gone belly up? What's the domain. Do a whois on the domain to get the nameservers. Do a whois on the nameservers to get the host company. Get into contact with the host company. Actually, have the customer get into contact with them as they will most likely have to prove they own the site. That's if the customer doesn't know the un/pw for the site. If they do, ftp like the others said.
  12. We'll be heading down around 7-7:30 as well. Never been before, I'm really excited and hopefully will score some good stuff.
  13. Good question, really makes me think and realize how lucky I am to have seen as many shows as I have. I'd like to see John Butler Trio, seem to always miss them when their around. Tea Leaf Green. Tool.
  14. If you haven't gotten rid of them I'll take a few for sure. We live real close so it could be fun to check out, and I can probably find a few others who would love to go as well. Let me know Steph
  15. Woo hoo, now that's what I want to hear (it's mattm though I seem to be logged into the wrong account I think). Personally I think that if we planned out the mass transit systems better we could pretty much ban cars but suggestions like that will get me killed. I don't know what my carbon footprint is but Steph, Trey and I have a very low one. We save power as much as possible, walk instead of even taking the bus, even if walking takes an hour or so, although I have to ride the bus to work, that's almost all I do. We try to save energy and will be using a clothes line this summer rather than the dryer (there's even one in the basement). We rent so have the appliances that came with the place, some of which are old and probably take way too much power but I'd like to get new ones once I can afford it. I'd love to have an electric car that is charged via bullfrog type power. Thing is, pretty much anyone can do this, it's not all THAT hard, just takes a little bit more effort. Here's something I worry about. When my dad was a kid, if someone would have mentioned smog alerts they would have been said to have been on crack or the 50's equivalent of that saying. Now, we have them. We have them so bad that the worst days if you have a respiratory problem you'd best stay inside. So, I keep having the sad thought about what I think will be next which is smog days. Days in which the smog is so bad that you just can't go outside, breathing problem or not. Ok, I'll probably be accused of smoking the crack but it's what I see and I don't want our kids to have to go through that. It's nice outside and breathing can be nice too. And what hurts is that there is no REAL reason for this. We say stuff about our society needing things and it's how our infrastructure works... bullshit, it's pure laziness. Everyone can contribute and we'd reduce the problem by enough that the earth can handle it and so can our systems. rant done, sorry.
  16. How the hell can they make blueberries prescription, the grow wildly everywhere. I will not be one happy camper if they take my blueberries away.
  17. The pharmaceutical and oil companies rule the government. We barely live in a democratic society anymore. How have we become so oblivious to serious issues concerning our health and environment happening around us? It sickens me how money makes people psychotic and how those people are running our country.

    BBQ!!

Well BBQ season is coming into full gear with the nice weather and all, I might as well start a BBQ thread for you to post your favorite BBQ ideas and concoctions. Matt and I just got our brand spankin new one on the weekend and used it everyday since, and don't really plan on using the oven much at all this summer. Thinking chicken tonight, and favorite marinades? Grill away!!
  19. Hi folks, It is moving season again for us and we're looking for a few extra helping hands to make the job quicker and easier. I can often count on the lovely people around these parts, so if anyone is free this Saturday (May 3rd) morning/afternoon, we'd really appreciate any help we can get. We're pretty centrally located and are moving just around the corner. There is 3 flights of stairs in the place we're moving out of, but only a few steps in the one we're moving into. It also may rain  but the truck will be close to the door, and well..a little rain won't hurt anyone. Thanks in advance. There will be COLD beer and yummy eats. Kindness is much appreciated Steph
  20. I played at the park with little Trey, and walked around town. It was great! All the kids out and about The happy moods people are in The smell of BBQ! I LOVE SUMMER!! Peace Steph
  21. I e-mailed my MP too, Paul Dewar here in Ottawa. FINALLY is right....I hope this passes.
  22. Only when guests are coming over I make the bed. It stays messy most of the time.
  23. Oh so these are just rumors? Either way, I'm still excited.
