  1. http://www.healthytoys.org/product.least.php If your concerned with lead content and other chemicals, this site is really great. I linked their list of best toys.
  2. Currently writing an e-mail to Oc Transpo: Next time there is an event happening at Scotiabank place, please provide more buses! And if I check the website, and phone information to find out the times they will be running, please do your best to provide this service accurately. It is a great inconvenience to have to wait close to an hour, in the cold, after the scheduled times to see only two buses pass by, both so full they couldn't pick up anymore people. There were 20 people or so waiting at my stop for these buses, which was only a fraction of who were probably waiting at the other stops down the line. I understand this happens frequently when events are happening at Scotiabank place, so maybe take this as a sign to add at least one more bus. I was traveling from downtown, so maybe there wasn't an issue from other stops in the city, but please consider that the downtown area buses will be full, and people will be expecting a ride, only to find out after an hour of waiting they won't be getting a bus ride and have to fork over $50.00 for a cab. And yes, I know the 96 goes to Kanata, and could have been an option, but it doesn't go to Scotiabank place so I would have still had to take a cab from Terry Fox. And to someone new to the city, they would have probably no idea about this, and so would then have to call OC Transpo information and wait at least another 15 minutes on hold, which after already being late for the show, wouldn't be much of an option, you'd rather not miss the band(s) you've payed money to see. This doesn't look good on your part, especially to visitors of the city who are relying on your service to get them to their destination. Turns out your not so reliable in these situations. I'm hoping more people will complain and that something gets done about this. Thank you. Paying Customer. And rubberdinghy, thanks for the rides You provide a great service.
  3. Will be there, whether I'm on the floor or not we'll just have to see. Either way I'm psyched :)
  4. Any more freebies?? I missed that train. There's still some tickets available..cheapies are $67 after tax.
  5. I sure as hell laughed at you, out loud, a serious LOL. Did you honestly do that because that's really really funny...
  6. Are people dressing up in costume for the Ottawa show?
  7. Happy Birthday Sharon! Mike that was a beautiful poem.
  8. I just heard this. OC Transpo is celebrating 25 years of the transitway...All routes are 25 cents! http://www.octranspo.com/Whats_New/Transitway_25_menuE.htm
  9. Wow, that would be amazing to be standing in the middle of and walking over. The article talks about how it is made...I learned something new today. VERY cool.
  10. It'll be gone by Thursday, going to be warm that day. Just a little preparation for the winter we're going to have. Bring it on!!!
  11. You can try the Somerset West Community Health Center http://www.swchc.on.ca/ . They have a medical center with doctors accpecting new patients. You have to get on a waiting list but it's not usually more than 3 months. They have a catchment area, but I think you'll be in it and there is a walk in clinic at the center as well.
  12. Looking forward to it, ready to get my groove on! See you soon Brad...
  13. Carbon tax according to the national post: Here's a chart (or two): Chart 1 Chart 2 An article from the national post:
  14. Yep, I'm definitely there tomorrow too Brad...but the show tonight seems hard to miss.
  15. Who's up for some funk? Sounds like it's going to be one "horny" party. "This one's a full-on orchestral funk battle royale: you really don't want to miss this. If you don't know Chicago's Hypnotic Brass Ensemble , check 'em out now." $20 cover, but I have a feeling it'll be worth it.
  16. My friend thinks he totally looks like a paedophile. Probably the eyeliner.
  17. I've lived here for just over 2 years and I couldn't agree more. Noticed it almost right away, people are definitely to self absorbed, way more so than the coastal folk I'm used to. Oh well, I've put up with you Ontarians this long and I'm still here.....and sadly, get a bit self absorbed to. I don't like it. As for the bus thing, definitely seen my share of nasty drivers/passengers. I think kicking the guy off was a little harsh but whatever, its your bus so your call. I do think I pay enough in tax dollars that I deserve to have a #2 arrive on time at least one time out of the month.(Me being self absorbed) This is coming from downtown route, I definitely agree with the whole making the route shorter, or at least split, that was talked about a while back. Hey Dinghy, question. I rode on a brand new OC transpo bus the other day. Different seat layout and the thing was freaking quiet! When stopped at a light it barely sounded like it was running. What's the deal? There going to be more of these? Steph
  18. I think Trey wants to hear Mexico, and Akimbo, and Tailspin, and Brent Black, and Seat of my Pants, and lots and lots of moe. Moe moe moe moe moe moe moe moe.
  19. I'd loooooove to hear Brent Black.... Or as many kick as bass solos as possible... Boun chicka woun woun 1 day left...woot!
  20. Congrats! Looks like a fabulous cozy comfy place with lots of character. And can't beat being by the water..and closer to Ottawa! Come visit lots. Or we'll come visit and Trey can run around that yard of yours Great seeing you at Bluesfest. Cheers Steph
  21. The new rave is Klean Kanteen stainless steal bottles, with the attachment sippy spout for when your baby is a bit older, I see tons of moms with these. As for bottles, if you don't want to do glass or regular plastic there is the Born Free brand which has a wide variety of bottles all BPA free. We have the sippy cup and Trey loves it and learned super fast how to suck out of it with not having any luck with regular bottles and only being used to the breast. We're pretty lucky in this day and age to have all the options we do for our babies although it can be very overwhelming at times.
  22. I think the blacksheep stage will be filled with lots of rhythm in the afternoon. My friends drumming group, Baobab will be performing so I'll be catching that at 4:00. There's also Jam Clinic on that stage at 1:30, kind of curious as to what that is. Then Robert Randolph at 8:00. And if I'm feeling adventurous I may even check out Sean Paul at 6:00. Get busy. Sad that it's the last day and kind of rainy though
  23. Home depot. We got a great pair for our little guy for like $16.00, they have a great selection too.
  24. Right on, happy birthday! Hope it's all that and more. Great seeing you and the family at bluesfest.
