  1. big bump....but.. here are some video clips from night #2 in Gatineau: Big Bird w/ Marie-Pierre Arthur: Travelling Salesman (wicked end solo): Machinery of the Heavens:
  2. Check this little trailer I made for The Balconies. For all you jambanders they opened for Golden Dogs the other night, so that a good sign? hehe http://myspace.com/thebalconies
  3. One of the best thing about the members of Radiohead is their awesome, non-lazy, work ethic. Thom and co. are always up to something and its such a treat to be able to witness (maybe not in first person but I mean as a fan) it.
  4. Sorry I did not film any of their set. Kinda wish I had, but at same time things were a bit unorganized and late getting there, for me at least.
  5. ^ I remember seeing those clips when it first went down. Amazing...JPJ is the man and this band is great!
  6. ahhh yeah! Nick and Wooley were mentioned that "yeah she's great" and that she was spending alot of time in Montreal. Combined with guesting on Bye Bye Bye at Regina Folk Fest...I should have put it together... http://www.exclaim.ca/articles/generalarticlesynopsfullart.aspx?csid1=136&csid2=844&fid1=41174 You can stream "Gold Rush" at Secrety City Records' website here: http://www.secretcityrecords.com/albums/goldrushmp3

    kanye

Just keeping his name in the headlines as usual.
  8. Hoping to check him out live at some point.
  9. ^ I gotta get me some more of that next time you are in town Luke. Had a great night as well. Tell Kate I enjoye her company (the letsmockLuke'phrenia included). Yeah Ming, I was surprised they didn't play Lola Who, A L'oree des bois, and New Kind of Love. I saw them last night at University of Ottawa, free outdoor show but the environment was uhhh 101 week silly stuff, so...yeah. The band was great though. I asked Nick about that setlist and he told me they had planned New Kind of Love and maybe some others but when everyone got up they launched Guru/Sinnerman but they weren't intially planning on playing it.
  10. ..and fixed it up Sorry I didn't know it was patented...hayoo Kidding ;-), welcome aboard Ming!
  11. On Oct 23 Vic Chesnutt is also playing with members of Fugazi, Godspeed and Silver Mt Zion at Mavericks.
  12. Toronto on the 4th and then this. I will hopefully make it to both.
  13. I beleive my friend Kirk Ramsay, aka Giant Hand, will be opening for him in Toronto.
  14. If anyone has Bravo! and can capture (preferably in DVD quality), please try and get this. If you do, let me know (been collecting some PW lately). Airs at 10pm EST. http://www.channelcanada.com/Article3284.html

  16. Really enjoyed this show. Some of the reviews of the shows leading up to this were like "amazing tight band" "best show of 2009" etc. I didn't think it was up there, but its was still solid. My eyes were fixed on Paul Banwatt the whole time, man he is fast but always keeping it on lock. Nils was great too, but Paul stole the show. I shot video and perhaps post a few clips when my comp is fixed and I get it transferred...later this week/next week.
  17. The durbs are amazing. Seen them 3 times, love John O's energy. And their new tunes sound great "Get In Or Get Out" "Junkpile" "Gunhammer" and that other one that has a wicked guitar melody then end with. I too couldn't keep my eyes off Paul Banwatt of RAA when I saw them here on Thursday. Phenomenal drummer.
  18. RAA touring their re-released, SaddleCreek signed, 8.0 Pitchfork'ed (not that it justifies anything), record...Hometowns.
  19. It may be a late show, but it will def be a great show. And apparently some of their new tunes are quite proggy, which will be interesting. Little thingy I wrote: http://www.apt613.ca/2009/07/22/bruce-peninsula-going-big-at-dekcuf/ Come make it out tonight!
  20. Sorry to hear you missed it Brad. I enjoyed their set, loud and rough and the drummer (so it is a new guy eh, because I've seen them with two other drummers in the past...maybe three) was really grabbing my attention.
  21. The amazing Basia Bulat and Great Lake Swimmers. I'll be filming GLS.
  22. If anyone wants to buy my ticket for tonight let me know. IF you li.ve in west side (im in nepean) even better.
