  1. I would love to be in either of these limos. You fuckers are gonna have a fantastic time. I am absolutely enamoured with what John Mayer has brought to this table. He put some work in and learned the important parts. The biggest question mark for me was Oteil but that cat is seemingly a perfect fit alongside John Mayer. They are getting off together, make no mistake about that. I have seen tons of Bob Weir Dead-led incarnations and this one is absolutely wonderful, especially once you realize they are only a few shows in. I'm rather excited that folks who still post here are heading to see this group. Have the best show possible.
  2. Totally agree C-Towns. Loved this version of Sugar Magnolia. Doenst Jerry say something like "speed it up" as Bobby is getting the early chords out? I cant recall even though I just finished listening to this show. It is extremely interesting and I am looking forward to getting back to it because I feel like there is alot more going on than one may realize. I wouldnt make it for someone who isnt deep into the Dead, thats for sure. The harmonies get a little too raw in the sound. I was struck hard during the start of disc three with The Greatest Story Ever Told going into Johnny B Goode but the takeaway for me was the Caution > Feedback (They should have entitled it Philback) > Uncle John's Band at the end, although CD 2 is fantastic. Kreutzmann sounded like he was ready to keep playing until 2015. He was all over that version and possibly more than Garcia who was rockingly fluttering the fuck out of it. I seem to recall Esau once telling me how much he enjoyed shows from 1971, I think he once mailed me one, and fully admit that said year is definitely one that I am not overly familiar with. It appears as though during the catalogue of hardcore-psychedelic Dead into the more jazzy realms up to their time off in 1974 I skipped a bunch of that transitional period. 1970-1971 are not years I could actively discuss aside from their studio work which was exemplary.
  3. I listened up to the end of He's Gone and I thought it was exacelement. John Mayer is slaying thisshit. Look no further than Cold Rain and Snow. He is immediately killing it.
  4. Interstingly enough this version of The Eleven ended up segueing into a plowing version of Turn On Your Lovelight. Garcia quoted The Eleven a couple of times but all you have to do is listen to what Pigpen is saying/coercing during Lovelight to kinda understand how the Grateful Dead ended up being what they became. That's what it is all about.
  5. I am deep into the 1969 show and holyfuckboyos, they are ontop of the insides of The Eleven during this show. It is right there where you want with more than you ever knew possible.
  6. C-towns, put that thing out. He said "bunt"

    For Star Wars fans

Star Wars themed bar opens in Ottawa CTV OttawaPublished Sunday, October 25, 2015 6:29PM EDT Last Updated Sunday, October 25, 2015 6:36PM EDT The owners of a new Star Wars themed bar in Ottawa held its grand opening on Sunday. The venue, called the Cantina, is named after a fictional bar in the iconic series. “The Cantina is actually where Luke Skywalker and Ben Kenobi first meet Han Solo and it’s a bar and it’s probably one of the best scenes in the world,” said Jeff St.Pierre, co-owner at the Cantina. It is a place where fans like Andrew Zadarnowski can come to play board games, watch movies, and talk Star Wars. “I’ve been waiting a long time for it. I saw it like when they first announced it. I was waiting,” said Zadarnowski, who came dressed up as Han Solo. The room is painted brown to represent the desert on Tatooine. The walls are covered in posters and photos from the saga. “This is one of the behind the scene shots of Frank Oz, puppeteering Yoda and speaking with him, with his voice, and someone captured that,” said St. Pierre, pointing at the photo. The owners are also serving drinks based on the series, like Bantha Milk, a blue-coloured liquid produced by a female bantha’s mammary glands. With the seventh installment in the Star Wars series ‘The Force Awakens’ coming out in December, St.Pierre said the time to open the bar, was now. “Everybody loves Star Wars,” he said. “The whole epic space opera, good guy versus bad guy, the struggle of good versus evil type thing going on and then as you grow up it stays with you and with the new movies coming out shortly, it was just relevant. Just next door, the same owners have another games stores called the Kessel Run. They are hopeful one day they can connect the two. The idea, sounds like more good news for fans and gamers. “I think it’s cool, it gives us a chance to get our internal 'geekiness' out,” said another guest. The Cantina is located at 2803 St. Joseph Blvd. in Orléans.

  12. "One of the more funnier things I read today across my fb feed was a conservative friend concerned about the migration of Russia prostitutes and drug dealers flocking to Canada."
  13. Whoa. I somehow just stumbled upon this thread. I am really looking forward to this release based on the trailer!
  14. So I am downloading the set and just listened to the first show from 1966 - the Pigpen led Midnight Hour is the best one I have ever heard the Dead or one of their offshoots do. Holyfuckballs.
  15. That was a helluva display of pitching.
  16. An incident involving an “over-enthusiastic translator” has mistakenly led some Radiohead fans to believe the follow-up to the band’s 2011 album The King Of Limbs in now complete. While the group’s new record isn’t quite done and dusted just yet, they say they’re already thinking about touring in 2016. The whole translation incident kicked off when Consequence Of Sound reported on a recent interview Radiohead’s Jonny Greenwood gave to Russia’s Radio Silver Rain, in which a translator said the muso had revealed Radiohead “have finished recording of the new album” and have planned a 2016 tour. Seeing this error, Greenwood quickly took to Twitter to say he was mistranslated, and that the band have recorded “lots” of material but still aren’t quite finished while also adding "that Low Roller is a wanker"
