  1. Atlantic City? - that's a fave. I like how "my hometown" snuck in there... another great by the boss!
  2. Gotta get Cosmic Steve out for the Can Jam Spectacular - he gave many of this scene's bands their first gigs. There is another jam that happens on Tuesdays at the Local on Roncesvalles - a little more intimate vibe - and pass the jar type of cover - Marc Roy plays guitar with a couple who sings & play fiddle - add to that upright bass, mandolin & banjo. Wednesdays used to be my regular thing until the Gypsy Co-op Mondays took over then that fizzled out and there really hasn't been a Toronto hang in a long while.

I've just uploaded a live track "Afro Snappy" from High Plains Drifter's recent show at C'est What to the band's myspace page. The band is Dave Chan - Drums, Anthony Sadler - bass, Mike Field - Trumpet, Sue Marenick & Steve MacDonell - Percussion and yours truly on guitar. This was the first song of the evening - you can barely tell that the bands is fresh out of the gates... Please check it out and let me know what you think! Also - I'd like to get the show up on the archive.org - I have the CD of the show - do I have to transfer to FLAC first before i post? Any help here would be appreciated. enjoy!

  14. this guy is great ... i think he's closer to JJ Cale then John Prine.... maybe right in the middle of 'em... he's great - I have some albums - never seen him live though.. hot damn I missed him again!
