  1. From what I understand, there will be acoustic acts in the saloon during the May long weekend festival, and then the focus of the Canada Day weekend will be acoustic acts. I'm not sure of the details but that's what I've been told.

    Peace, Mark

  2. I'm still not totally hooked by this band, although I want to be. I've never seen them live though. At some point I will.

I was at their home (the two Romano boys) in Welland over the Easter weekend. Their parents are family friends with my in-laws, and my nephew is a big fan of the band so we went to their place (their parent's home) to meet the band and buy some merch. A very cool experience. I really enjoyed talking with Ian Romano (drummer in the band) and David Romano (who is Ian and Daniel Romano's dad). I've always gravitated toward David ... he is a gentle man and a kick-ass musician. David's dad was also a stellar musician from what I've been told. The music gene obviously runs in the family.

They are building a studio in the Romano family home. Sweet!!! I hope to visit again when the studio is done. Maybe even scream and yell during a recording session. :)

If you check these guys out Newrider let us know what you think. I'm thinkin' you'll dig what you hear.

    Peace, Mark

  3. I find that if I change a few words in the news story' date=' it becomes much more enjoyable to read:

Canada and the U.S. have signed an agreement that paves the way for bands from either nation to send fans across each other's borders during a festival ...

This still makes me laugh a lot. Too funny Mark

Thanks briguy. I find at times it's the only way that I can stay sane ... make light of the crazy sh*t that goes on in the world.

    Peace, Mark

  4. I have no idea how much TTC workers get paid, or what the contract issues are, but driving/transporting people in Toronto would be a stressful job and it would take a lot of energy to do it day in and day out. I just think of the grief I've had driving around in that city when I've visited ...

    Peace, Mark

  5. I am not implying anything' date=' as I highly doubt that YMSB would ever play at the Registry ... although it would be a huge treat if they did![/quote']

If they did a run of several places in Southern Ontario, including Toronto, through Ottawa and then on to Montreal, I think I'd take in the whole run. The Montreal / Toronto pair of shows last year was great, but really whetted my appetite for more YMSB.

    Aloha,

    Brad

Now that I think about it some more, I could see YMSB playing at the Registry if it was part of a run of shows. Somebody should make this happen!

    Peace, Mark
