  1. they just started putting flouride in the water in nova scotia (in the small town I know someone from in nova scotia anyways) have heard several disconcerting things about flouride over the years, I like distilled water reflectin on this the other night I thought that a lot of the right or wrong of it comes down to whether or not you're trying to take advantage of someone or not... if you are trying to take advantage, young person or not, its wrong like Jaimoe I've had girlfriends roughly 10 years younger (once I was in my 30's) and it didn't feel wierd at all... didn't go out shopping for that in particular... was a comfortable fit, shared the same zest and interests
  2. ugly fucker = the curse of those who just love to smile =)
  3. have decided Trey's particular level of fame rests squarely in the center between that of Michael J and Boris Yeltsin
  4. the shows crammed into that little bar (the original Amigo's?) across the street from The Cow (later Polo's) were some of the best nights of music I ever have had the pleasure of... Tony was a god with his little percussion setup the original excuse to stay out way too late on a sunday school night (thanks for the spellin correction, google wouldn't co-operate for me)
  5. saw a recent performance of Joan Jett with her band on tv a few weeks ago and it was actually pretty good... kinda looks like she's been reading assassin manuals and working out for the past 25 years in preperation for the next knob who makes the mistake of lobbing any fruit her direction Joe Jackson sadly got boo-ed off every stage he got on during that period as well... those were bad times for creative, talented, well dressed bald dudes... beginnings of the "if you don't have great hair why am I looking at you?" era
  6. long times man glad to hear you're still at it... Free Times is a great room for listening... good food and beers too... can't make it tomorrow so don't wear out your welcome yet! on the way to your gig tell every well dressed person you see you'll buy them drinks at the club then get on stage and exclaim theatrically that you said you asked them to all to buy YOU drinks... (then keep smiling, or looking confused and hurt, no matter what) have a great show!
  7. yeah, catching the Talking Heads would've changed my life for the much better... people I knew talked me out of going... [color:purple]oddly enough, I don't still keep in touch with them everyone seemed so angry at nothing easily definable back in those days (see Sting's quote above about James Brown and the grapefruit)... myself included to a degree... thank god for the drugs
  8. yeah, am due for an old school Griffith and gang show for sure... got bored of it after 4 years steady but that it took 4 years is quite a compliment Tony's back on drums?! am so there
  9. sold! love the 4th comment down:

  11. David Bowie... ... ... ... he turned 60 wow hope you've got a few more epic poetic compositions to spin for us Mr. Bowie... and happy birthday!
  12. think the "eye for an eye" bit is interpreted somewhat differently between to the 3 "Big in Jerusalem" religions thus the suicide bombings, 5000 round per second gun ships and funky to drive desert tanks
  13. $27 at hamilton place plus $6 "convenience fee" Hugh's Room has a nice old write-up about Don Ross
  14. thats in the old testament... what jesus was sent down to earth to preach the corrections to (in the new testament - time of jesus and forward) grew up catholic, seriously planned on bein a priest... find theology interesting still but don't have a faith beyond maybe "wanna-be" buddhist sober paisley thinks too much
  15. for all Bush's bible thumpin he doesn't seem to have read the bits like: "if thee is struck upon one cheek, rather than strike back, turn the other (cheek to be struck)" "let he who is without sin cast the first stone" or even the ever-so-confusingly worded: "THOU SHALT NOT KILL."
  16. you dudes make takin in an eyefull of teen at the mall sound like sunday school...
  17. er, um, plannin to go on "hiatus" with the needle ms. hux? =) doubt most of us will find ourselves stuck in Trey's pimpin shoes (with similiar problems) anyone who's seen a recent interview with Trey hasn't been saying "my god, what a mess that man is."... he seems pretty much fine, if overly smiley... he's apperently been up to some radical "recreationalisms" but in my experience the main trouble that comes up with a heroin habit is people getting out of hand trying to afford it... I doubt Trey's had to mortgage the house(s) to be honest, I get more worried hearing about a "half ounce bag of painkillers", if they're Oxycotin... presciptions are rarely an improvement over the fairly organic original drug thats being emulated likely needs a vacation from the spotlight in hawaii or somewhere pretty with some good books, a massuese and some choice non-caffinated buddhist teas think he was just holdin it for Fishman anyways (note: not saying heroin is fine by any means... saying Trey can afford the best of detox, and he probably hasn't had to resort to selling himself on street corners... and his kids likely know dad's a little "different" and won't get any more scarred from supporting him in court than they already are growing up as children of one of the guys out of the second most popular psychedelic band in history) (and... think ms. hux would make a great mom if she wanted to be one)
  18. think lying to kids is the worst thing you can do to em, particularly if one of their folks happens to be famous... they're going to hear it from someone soon anyways suck finding out you're being lied to by the people you should trust the most... tough to judge it from worlds away... figure Trey and the family deserve to make that call however it feels best hope its all goes smoothly as possible for em and all turns out well, Trey's not all bad
  19. though he is not here somewhere in my mind I hear Lazlo say "Dingleberries" (haiku)(-ish)
  20. yup, BA Johnston is definately worth takin the trouble for
  21. sweet avatar timouse Your House Band Tour '07 sounds killer
  22. after a month of not drinking at all a few years back I found I could do a beer or two a night at the bar pretty comfortably... I didn't love drinking enough to bother drinking at home alone or anything though everyone's different, but if you can do it, you'll know when you actually have the ability to do it... if you get the itch, just make sure you leave
  23. you rock Korey my brother definately have to visit ya sometime... hope all still is goin well
