  1. I didn't think Elemeno was there this year ;^) Wish you had been though! Edger - sorry 'bout your troubles! Great seeing you though. WE were only there for Friday night but that was a full ride for me - great time. Fat Cats sounded great as usual - nice new tunes! Battleship Ethel was a ball of intense tripadelia! Diesel Dog - can't say enough. Loved the way they closed with the acoustic set - well thought out! Diesel Doug's got one of the most sincere voices I've ever heard (sincere like Jerry's). Great to see lots of amazing folks - you know who you are! The only complaint I had was with the sound outside - with the speakers only in the tent it made it really distorted and hollow if you weren't in there. Otherwise, great job on the line-up etc.. for the festival Mark and Shane!
  2. Found this on youtube - made me laugh a lot *language not work appropriate* http://youtube.com/watch?v=L0Iq7DnNe94
  3. It says I need a password for the pictures!?!? Anyone have a setlist?
  4. I can't wait for this show - looking forward to it since it was announced. Was thinking about a YMSB>Lose Yer Shoes but after being away for a couple of weeks I think I'll just stick with YMSB then head home.
  5. I drive my wife nuts.
  6. Does that mean Steve Murphy and Mark Wilson are playing for 5 hours (5pm - 10pm) on Saturday? Maybe the Gillies-Filipowitsch set could be pushed back later into the evening instead?
  7. That's really funny! I'm interested in seeing the United Steel Workers of Montreal - have no idea how they sound but I remember seeing a poster at PJC and their little write up had me curious.
  8. Congrats you guys - sounds like the you had the perfect day you deserved!
  9. Which one's inappropriate ;^)
  10. Happy Birthday Mike - thanks for helping create of lot of wonderful memories!
  11. Happy Birthday Mark, HOpe you had a wonderful day filled with all things good. It was soooooo nice to spend some time with you at Grateful Fest. You are what the scene and good friends are all about - happiness, love, wild dancin' - infectious to say the least!!! Seems very odd that it's your birthday and I got a nice NRPS show in the mail from you (Thank you!!). ANd I LOVED the stamp on the package - a great Gordon Lightfoot (a la Gord's Gold) stamp - that'll be the first stamp in my collection! All the best Mark - keep shinnin'!!
  12. I'd love to hear the live shows.....cuz I bought all 3 of their CDs and they come off as WAY too country for this boy's blood! FUCK ME DIRTY! Well I haven't listened to the 2nd CD so I don't know for sure but I'm just too disappointed to give it a try yet!
  13. Looks like a lot of fun!! Wish we could make it! If the in-laws weren't up, the outlaw would be in me.
  14. Midurty - that sure sounds sweet!!! You lucky %&*$# KarinGarage - thanks for sharing the photoz!! Wish we had the internet at our place so we could share ours. Musically my fav's for the week: - Cornmeal - everything they played blew my mind - Franklin's Tower: slow version by Donna & the Tricksters + Baraco - Midnight Moonlight: Rice/Rowan Quartet - Pride of Cucamonga: DSO - I'll Take a Melody: Donna & the Tricksters - So Many Roads: DSO
  15. Yup, I'd say this was the best festival I've been to! For so many different reasons - mostly the music and the company/fun around the campfire did it for me. But the swimming, general vibe/buzz in the air and food didn't hurt either. Musically DSO kicked my ass all the time. Cornmeal was a real treat and nicest surprise of the weekend for me - thanks to Tigger and Becky for the heads up on that one. Donna Jean and the Tricksters w/ Barraco was amazing - like you said Edger - much more than I was expecting. It was nice to see Barraco and Donna Jean slutting themselves out to every band (I mean that in the nicest way). Barraco is so infectious!! Was great to see some Hookah content. Katz and Jammers was good - not great though for me. One Under (with two former Hookah members) was right on the money! Too bad they only played like 4 songs. Peter Rowan & Tony Rice Quartet - HOLY FUCK - I can't get enough of them! NRSP - awesome - nice hearing the keys with them Greyboy All-Stars - I wish I would have gone up sooner. The only thing I missed that I would have liked to see was Ramblin' Jack Elliot w/ Peter Rowan and friends but there was just too much fun being had around the campfire. Also wish I would have heard more Boris Garcia - only caught a couple of their songs but they had a great sound! That said, it was really great seeing a bunch of new and old friends. Edger and Mousepad - was a treat getting to know you. Mr Mark - always many smiles with you - you as well Chris. Fisty and James - wonderful wonderful! TC - loved spending a week with you - still can't believe how many songs were written for you! Steve from Cleveland - you ROCK!!! Jen and Swifty and kids - always a treat! Tigger and Becky - you guys are crazy fun! Captain Sunshine and Baj - you two are great together - lots of nice energy! Sarahbelle and Hippyrastachild - love seeing your smiles! Boss and Aubre - can't say enough but those two! Robin - it was nice meeting you - thanks for the help with the car! Yellana (sp?) - it was really nice meeting you as well! Hope I didn't miss anybody - Oh kanada kev - nice to meet you briefly as well! Backbacon - sure wish you were there!! Biggest disappointment of the weekend for sure! Hope you had fun at the wedding though!
  16. Was reading the other day that they've confirmed that Mars used to be 1/3 water. Now they're next step is to try and determine if there were any living organims there. All dried up - hope we're not headed there.
  17. That was a crazy week of music for me - everything, musically, seem to go full circle....and it was great! - Saw Big Sugar up around Bracebridge - back to TO to see the ABB - the boys from Gov't mule sit in for a few songs. - go to Comfort Zone to see Gov't Mule - Gordie Johnson sits in with them Wish that kind of shit happened more often

  20. 1) a really nice cool breeze coming in the window, especially welcome after a long muggy week 2) h) when people mess up communication/ideas on the interweb r) a rim job 3) cold beer(and a joint) on a hot afternoon of outdoor working. 4) simple acts of kindness; one man/woman's garbage is another's gold 5) campfires in your own backyard 6) sunday afternoons with steve kimock & pete sears ▼) Mojito (rum, mint, lime, ice and club soda) 8) Losing a really close game of Cribbage 9) fuÇking in front of mirrors (but not underneath, that sh!t's 80's cheesy) 10) Stomping around in rain puddles 11) Playing with your dog and a water hose. I laugh out loud every time. 12) sunrises/sunsets 13) birds singing to start the day
  21. Ya, I can't wait to see Cleve from Steveland either - it's been a looooong time for me too. I was trying to convince Juleah to come a while back. Steve said he talked to her about it to but he said it didn't sound promising. You should definitely try - the more the better!
  22. That's not what I asked Fisty......FUCK!! ha ha! just kidding. Ya, I'm interested to see One Under, not all that excited though. I listened to some of their stuff off their website a while back and wasn't too impressed - seem like a lot of generic wanking! But how can there not be a lot of wanking when there's a wanker in the band? - that's the question. Looking forward to seeing you and James!! Steve from Cleveland said he's going to come down during the day a couple of days....yeehaaa!!!!
