  1. if you gotta (going to) lip sync, you might as well make a show of it. I'd rather see a band do like they did than pretend to play their instruments
  2. yeah.. that's the bank Ok Go. They performed the treadmill dance live at this years MTV Music Video Awards
  3. Don't Leave Me This Way - Harold Melvin & The Bluenotes

  6. I'm very pleased to announce that the "and more" in the "Stephen Franke and Noises from the Toolshed and more" from the initial posting is Inglewood Jack . Can't wait for this gig!
  7. Actually Brad, Dr_Evil_Mouse, Marcus of Vanderpark and Adam of Eppiphane have all guested with us
  8. that's kind of his character though.. or at least the character he puts on for the show. true that sometimes it can make it a bit hard to watch, or at very least doesn't help in trying to turn the views of those watching the show sometimes. The one they did on recycling was interesting. I really wonder how much truth there is in their research. If they really are giving us the straight dope then holy cow, recycling is a complete waste of time and money.
  9. I used to feed my dog Eukanuba, which is owned by Iams, until I heard about the live testing that Iams was doing and immediately switched brands. I raised the issue with my vet at our last checkup and she said that it was her understanding that Iams had cleaned up their act. That, like StoneMtn and phishtaper said, they had contracted out services and it was those contractors that were doing this testing, and that Iams was unaware. Iams (or P&G or someone) sent out letters to all the vets stating what happened and what Iams had done to correct the situation. I know that both Iams and Eukanuba are quality dog foods (not the best, but I can't really afford the best, but way better than a lot out there) and I have switched back to Eukanuba. I do what I can to try and feed my dog the best food I can afford to get her and to do what I can to ensure that the food has been developed responsibly as well. With all that said, I trust that Iams has cleaned up their act.
  10. Tonight will be gig number 2 of what hopes to be a long run of weekly gigs for The Pejoratives at The Clocktower Brew Pub. Last week was a pleasant surprise. A great, relaxed atmosphere, a fun band, lots of people enjoying the tunes, good beer, and no cover! Tonight Brad, from Donkey Punch, will be sitting in with the band so that should turn into some good jammy fun. Brave the cold and come on out for some funky tunes, warm food, and great beer!

  14. The Pejoratives, rising out of the ashes of the now defunct band Stairwell K, are, and I quote: Anyway, they are starting up a regular Thursday night gig at The Clocktower Brew Pub (575 Bank Street by Isabella). The show starts around 9:00-9:30 and it looks like there is no cover (and if there is it'll be light). Sounds like a great place to check some grooves and drink some beer! You can check The Pejoratives online at www.thepejoratives.ca
  15. hey man.. happy birthday! drop me a line soon and we'll have you guys over.. trade war stories!
  16. For those of you looking for something to do tomorrow (Saturday) night, the 12 piece roots r&b band I play with, The Crowd, is having their 11th annual Christmas party at The Rainbow. I believe Santa will be showing up, and usually there are a couple of special guests, and I believe that I may even be singing (though that may be reason not to come ) Here are the details: Who: The Crowd (12 piece roots r&b/soul band) Where: The Rainbow, 76 Murray Street in the Market When: Saturday, Dec 16th, 9:30pm
  17. this thread is useless without pics
  18. heya Deeps... my only thought is that for the next album you might want to look into working with a producer. Having someone with good ears and good ideas come in and listen to your music constructively, and removed from the emotional aspect of the initial song writting/band dynamics, is a good thing for every band I think. A good producer will work with you guys and hopefully open your eyes and ears to ideas and directions you might have possibly missed. It would certainly be an extra expense in the recording process, and you'll want to do a bunch of looking around to find a producer who will be a good fit with the band, but a good producer can make a good record a brilliant record. Just my $0.02 I love you guys.. and all your songs need more cowbell!
  19. "You can't be a real country unless you have a beer and an airline. It helps if you have some kind of a football team, or some nuclear weapons, but at the very least you need a beer." -Frank Zappa
