a buddy of mine has both a waffles and a STMusic account and he says there is a greater selection of music on waffles (though I suppose what he really means is that there is a great selection of music he's interested in on waffles). other than that very little bit of info I really don't know if one is really superior to the other.. just that waffles got most of the hype after oink closed so it became the community everyone really wanted to join.

I'd agree.. and as much as I want a waffles account stmusic is certainly better than nothing.. and I'm sure it's largely just a matter of time for the users and database to build though.

There is a multi-volume collection out there called Saint Germain des Pres Cafe (up to Volume 9 by now) which is nothing but that St. Germain styled jazz house. They have them all at Amazon.ca but I'm sure you can find them through other sources as well.

thanks for the plug Brad I was always a big fan of Drew Nelson.. wicked slide guitar player back in the day.. rumour had it he hit the nose candy pretty hard and dropped out of the scene for a while. All I know is he never go the kudos that Tony got and he doesn't play much anymore. Other guys I'd check out would be "Dr. Dave" Foster, Rick Fines and/or Suzie Vinnick (though they don't play in town much anymore.. they tour all over now) and Scotty Doubt. And though they aren't really blues, but rather Zydeco music, the Mumbo Jumbo Voodoo Combo are amazing!

I think a bad pfunk show is a lot like bad pizza.. it's still pizza man! I don't think it was their best show at all, but it was still a lot of fun and grooved my ass off, so I was happy.
