-
hmm.. maybe I can waste some time as well
-
I read it.. it was my first (and so far only) Gaiman book. I couldn't put it down.. lots of fun
-
I've got two invites to hand out.. you can email me at thatpatguy at gmail dot com

hey all.. I just got back from Quebec City so I didn't have a chance to post before then but it was great meeting those of you who I did meet (bradm, Pootie, Del, Meggo, Douglas) and for those of you who I jammed with but didn't meet, it was great fun for sure..
I would agree that it got smoother as the evening progressed, as people relaxed and got more comfortable with how it was all going to go down.
I might not be able to make it this week (I usually spend Thursday night's playing trad Irish music at Daniel O'Connel's ) but I'd be hip to do it again in a heart beat. Awesome way to start the weekend!
oh.. and if no one is doing anything tonight (Tuesday, Sept 7th) I'll be at The Bayou is the Brian Downey Big Band doing some of that big band/swing stuff, come on by for a pint.. the tunes get started between 8:30 and 9:00 and there's a nice big dance floor for those slick swing dancin moves I know you are all famous for
-
I dropped a bass once.. thank goodness it didn't break or nothin
-
how do you get the Expos hat over the nappy dreads?
-
so since I haven't met any of you (cept for Velvet and Jakis) all before, could you all wear like name tags or something tonight?
I'm pretty pumped.. should be a riot.. a loud and crazy riot.. rawk on!

well expect me to be there with a bass and maybe a djembe...any hand drummers or percussionists or kit players going to be there??
i sure hope so. drums are cool.
I can bring my bodhran, but as drums go it's quiet.. so I'll probably get drowned out
-
in theatres now
-
I'm more hip to the raw jam thing.. mostly because I don't really know many songs.. it's sad really
-
Sorry for the tease, but I don't take my tuba out of it's case for less than $2,000.
must be one of them fancy dancy "union" musicians
-
I really hope Velvet brings his tuba.. if Velvet does, I'll bring my bari sax and get my buddy to bring his tenor and we'll do some New Orleans Brass Band stuff
-
whoah.. I wasn't being serious.. but hmmm...
maybe eh.. you have lots of effects? it would be like Bootsy's Rubber Band.. he had a bass player.. since Bootsy didn't really play "bass" if you know what I mean
I won't have time to get together before hand though.. and now I'm all nervous cuz I'm rusty as anything
-
i'd like to get together...need a wacky bassist?
i don't really know songs anymore so i'd be down for jams and free craziness.
i'm in the area for a little bit...
ahh nuts.. I was going to bring a bass.. maybe we could do dueling basses (you'd win I'm sure)
-
bugger.. now I'm going to have Signs stuck in my head for the rest of the day
-
so is that going to be this Thursday (September 2)? or the Thursday afterwards?
-
cool.. I might be persuaded to head out..
-
No.. Murley left ages ago..
Perry White replaced him.. still a killer blower, and took the Bari duties away from Rich for the most part
-
good for you man.. good to see people standing up for the convictions.. especially against idiots like that
-
nice.. awesome to see someone pluggin the demons other than me.
They are the reason I play sax.. honestly.. I first heard them in 86 and said "that's what I want to do"
I also think that if they tool their live show just a bit they would be a huge hit among the jam circuit.. but maybe that's because I'm so enamoured with the band.

wow.. I totally remember those shirts.. killer!
