I think you're giving these people too much credit. We have control over ourselves at all times. The question is how much we wish to assert this control. The scenario you just described is the #1 issue I have against unions.

Jettison the underperforming 2nd and 3rd line players, replace them with lower paid but equally performing scrubs and use the extra cap money to buy at least two key players to fill our needs. Fuck I dunno.

And have they gotten any better since breaking up their "big 3" by moving Brad Richards? Seems to me if the Sens trade one of the three they'd just be trading one problem for another. Really, unless it's a killer deal I hope they don't go this route.

If you read the part I quoted from matt's post he claims that there are thousands of people in Ottawa who would work for OC Transpo for less than the current deal. If this is true then what stopped them/is stopping them from applying for a job there? My only bad assumption in this was assuming that matt was one of the thousands and so I pointed my question at him.
