If you really don't want to be bothered with installing anything you can probably get away with using WordPad which should already be installed on your unit.

Sorry this doesn't answer your question but here's a free alternative that you can download and install over the internet. It's compatible with MS Office documents as well as a myriad of other formats. It's what I use on my home computer. http://download.openoffice.org/
