  1. Well here's my take on last night at the ACC. Clinical. Everyone I was with thought it was fantastic that the band can sound exactly like they do on record. Amazing but not my thing. There just didn't feel to be any real emotion there. Maybe for 30 secs in the 3 hour show did I possibly get a tingle. The new material is terrible and they sure were pushing it enough. All the hits to keep the crowd happy, i bet 90% of the people there thought it was one of the best concerts they have ever seen. Would I have paid the $200 ticket price for these box seats. Absolutely not. I can however now say that I have seen the Eagles in concert. And the eye candy in the next box certainly helped keep our box of 12 dudes distracted.
  2. It's funny when my coworker first asked me about this a couple months ago he called me up and asked me if I liked the Eagles. My first thought was he was talking about a Road Trip down to Philly to catch an NFL game. That's how far from my mind these guys were. I imagine I can have a fun time Cougar watching.
  3. How come the only tickets that show up are $104.25???
  4. Well going down to the ACC tonight to see the Eagles. Not really my cup o tea, but we'll be partying in a Corp Box at no cost to myself. What should I expect from these wankers??
  5. Well this should be better than the Hamilton Place show 2 years ago where maybe 300 people showed up.
  6. You think John Bell sounds like, Greg Allman, Dickey Betts or Warren Haynes??? I would never equate his voice to sounding anything like the Allman's.
  7. Sounds like you are talking bout Phil Lesh
  8. Did I see Eric Stoltz in that preview??
  9. I'm sorry thats just fucking stupid. Starting at $100.00. A pair of Best Seats will cost $1000.00. Come on. Wow Pete & Roger can go fuck themselves with those prices. My My, Completely unimpressed. I guess the Punks have Become the Godfathers.
  10. Licks uses a separate grill for their Nature Burger. Harvey's doesn't. Where this will be cooked is a good question. I am quite aware that when I go out for eats more often than not my food shares a grill with meat based products. I understand that. Only in a true vegetarian restaurant could I expect no chance of cross contamination. I like many others find this kind of amusing considering KFC's history and policies.
  11. I would have never heard of Dispatch if it wasn't for JamOn on Sirius. And yes I agree about O.A.R. owing something to Dispatch. Every now and again Tea Leaf Green kind of has that vibe to me also.
  12. hmmmm without Paul Weller not sure about that one, Mind you I haven't followed the other 2 but Paul has had an amazing career post Jam days from the Style Council right on through to his current stuff. Love the Jam though
  13. We are going. Contemplated camping as well but quickly realized camping with 2 2 year olds wasn't gonna be much fun. No real walls to keep the noise and excitment confined in. We "bashed" the Holiday Inn in Barrie for a deal. Not quite the deal we got in Ottawa but a bed for us and the boys to rest our heads in after a day of sun and songs will be good.
  14. The Who remains one of the bands that were a MAJOR influence on my upbringing that I have not had a chance yet to see live. Hell I remember watching on TV the "Final" show from the Gardens waaaayyy baccckkk. Maybe I should finally see what remains of probably one of the top 5 musical acts ever.
  15. someone must be nearly as old as me.... Relax don't do it.....
  16. Yonge St N of Bloor across from the Canadian Tire. Doesn't CTV use it now as some sort of venue. Also known as the Masonic Temple.
  17. Well I'd love to hear more about it. Seems like a terribly cool device. I'll be even more interested to hear about your bills down the road. I wish I could get one but I can't justify it. My phone is paid for by work at about $130 a month but unfortunately we are with Bell and I am stuck on a Treo. I have been thinking about going the Touch Root and selling off my Palm TX everything that I could do with that I imagine I can do with the Touch once the 2.0 iPod software is out.
  18. Methinks Bouche got an iPhone today. Or there is another Bouche in the Ottawa / Gatineau area boasting about their success over on the ehMac forums. Bouche Says - Just activated...finally
  19. I thought he was a paramedic in NYC.
  20. WTF??? Paris, Ontario, am I missing an inside joke here.
  21. Well time's ticking slowly at the office today. We're leaving from Paisley to head to Ottawa around 6 tonight taking the North route. Looks like the weather is right on for this weekend as well. Sad to miss the Toronto show tomorrow but seriously looking forward to getting jiggy on Sunday. If you're at the Marriott on Kent or at the Show on Sunday and see us with the Twin Ethiopian Boys say hello. Heck if you're in the Hotel you'll probably hear us as the Tornado Twins can be quite the twosome. I really can't believe I get to see Panic again. And here I thought that chapter closed. Fuck Ya, Matt (Post #420 to Boot, what a coincidence) To the highway where some old cowboys go Drivers and drifters and rogues....
  22. A muddy sound mix does not bode well for the Six Headed Beast from Athens. Their live sound can be muddy in the best of places. Hopefully it was just the Hip's engineer who was having an off night.
  23. Other than the fact that none of the other venues on the tour are 16000+ Seat Arenas. Some of them are down right Sweet!!! Pechanga Resort & Casino
  24. Good Call on the JJ North tune. Hadn't thought of that one.
