  1. thanks tigger and becky for the wonderful party! lots of love everywhere, lots of friendly faces, i saw happy smiles all around, all night long. thanks also to diesel dog for the fantastic music. and of course, extra thanks to both scott and the band for accommodating the greatest wishes of those loudmouth lunatics wanting just one more. it was just so fun, i don't think anyone wanted it to end! it was so great to see everyone, all nicely dressed up & everything! congratulations scott & becky, everything really was lovely, and i hope you had great time. thanks for sharing your special day with all of us!
  2. shucks! LM i am glad you are going to make it! oh, and not only do we have pink fluffy clouds here, but there'll be red carpets rolled out for the likes of you!
  3. a very brown birthday to you, sir!
  4. someone get this vixen down here!!! marge, if you do end up having to take the bus, it's a really close walk -- the bus terminal is one street behind, and one block down from the walper. i can use my mad MS paint skillz & make you a map if you want.
  5. okay, these little answer bandits are a little faster than my edits. but you can try that phone number, here's the toronto one: 1 (866) 908-9090 *edit* and most important edit of all, FUCKIN' RIGHT ON, LADY!!! I WILL SEE YOU THERE!!
  6. www.weentickets.musictoday.com that should work. if they ask you for a password, it's "boognish" *edit* nevermind that is not workign.... hang on, i'll be back... *edit* #2 which show are you talking about? montreal? if so, try here http://www.metropolismontreal.ca/metropolis/accueil_en.aspx then click on the $30.72 price. it goes to a french place but it looks like you can buy tickets there. there's a 1-888 number on there for toronto too. hopefully that works!
  7. you know what sari, all the problems you had cancelling (as far as getting hung up on or having to hold forever) were possibly intentional. apparently the customer service people at bell have some incentive program thing in place, and they get a penalty or something every time someone calls to cancel, if the rep can't talk them out of it. so what they do to avoid losing points or whatever is purposely hang up on people or keep them on hold & never go back to them, etc. a tip someone gave me a long time ago in regard to dealing with bell, is if you have a problem and aren't satisfied with the solution the bell person offers you, just hang up and call back and talk to someone else. you should eventually find a rep that will offer you something better. of course, i don't even know that the amount of time spent doing that would be worth it these days, they have really hired a LOT of incredibly stuipd people and none of have the same answer to even the easiest questions. bell has really gotten terrible over the last few years. i'm starting to get a stress headache even THINKING about the shit we went through with them when we moved our office (no internet for a week, effed up phone lines, people waiting here until 7pm for service techs to not show up at all, it was just horrible). i hate bell. i especialy hate how inconsistent they are. different prices for different neighbourhoods, different deals "secretly" offered to different people. the fact they change things all the time and either don't announce that they are or are very sneaky about the way they do so. hell, the fact that every person you talk to there tells you something COMPLETELY different for the same question is frustrating. and on top of that, if you complain enough or if you happen to be speaking to the right rep, you can just about ANY charge taken off, easy as pie. and if you do manage to cancel, they will keep contacting you, offering you "welcome back!" packages that are like 1/2 price for a year or something. ugh, and even with the very limited amount i've had to deal with them, i hate rogers just as much and possibly even more. what are we to do? how can companies get away with this shit???
  8. yes, and it was very good! it was quite awhile ago that i was there, but i remember the ingredients being very fresh, and each dish had very creative presentation (there was even one dish with tofu cut into cute little stars). they also had very good bread served with some of the best olive oil & balsalmic vinegar i have ever tasted. the site is right, in that it does take awhile for your food, but i remember the atmosphere being nice enough to make the wait not too bad. it really was a long time ago i was there, so i'm not sure how much it's changed, but i'd definitely recommend checking it out.
  9. aw thanks guys! i'm still trying to figure all of this out, so we shall see. this is my last weekend on the wagon too... something tells me being in CHATHAM is going to be the biggest hurdle yet.
  10. craig, you are the hotness! you are also one of my favourite people in the whole entire world. i hope you have a GREAT amazing superfantastic mighty bombastic day. hopefully i will see you soon!
  11. it's a buddhaful day in the neighbourhood, it's a buddhaful day in the neighbourhood, could you be mine, would you be mine, won't you be my neighbour....

  15. oh, and p.s. I AM SO FRICKEN EXCITED!!!!! thanks pinkstagator, for your effort and diligence in securing both tickets and a place to sleep! *edit* ha, mine's on the 7th! this is gonna be the brownest birthday ever! WHOOOHOOO!!!!
  16. ^ and probably hourly and yeah, beg borrow & steal what you can to hook yourself up with hotels! ours is what, 15min-1/2 hour away??? i even looked on priceline today just for kicks and the only things coming up were 1 star and NONE of them were even in montreal, they were all surrounding areas (and who knows how far). the closest i saw (well, of the limited quebec geography i know) were in pointe claire and one in dorval. if there are any skanks on here with a montreal address, you could probably make a nice sum renting floorspace to heady ween fans!
  17. well you know what this means, don't you meggo? fate is screaming at you to move to waterloo! it is your destiny! join us!

  19. i'm not arguing with you. i agree with you. i am saying i don't think this is something for ANYONE to be outraged about. ("this" being the specific topic mentioned in the thread title, the underage muscians bit, not the 12 year old kitchen staff thing.). that article has kids in the bands complaining about this and the one guy's father "taking action". i think this rule is perfectly reasonable -- as i said, a big chunk of people turn 18 while they are still in high school, which is already very young. it's not like they have to wait until they are 30 to get in or anything (or even 21. hell, they don't even have to wait until they are 19). the 12 or 13 year old bit is one line in the article, and on that topic, i completely agree with the province's backlash, and you. no, not many parents are going to agree with that, and there are better working environments than a bar for the 12 & 13 year olds that NEED jobs and whose parents' don't care where they work.
