Del
I have not read any of the posts from this week, as I missed the episode due to a [color:purple] pesky Ravi Shankar concert I had to attend.I hope we get a review of that [color:purple]pesky concert... I'm a big Shankar fan, I'd love to hear some details...
StoneMtn
hahahaha! You will get your wish, my friend. I will be posting a review of that show, as well as another band I saw this weekend within a day or so. I am just not up to it today, as I returned from the Shankars in Vancouver to Whistler in the middle of last night and had to work all day. I'll probably post it tomorrow. I can give you a sneak preview of my version of the setlist, though ... they played a lot of Raggas, I believe six. (I couldn't resist reading your reply, but I'm not coming back to this thread until I've seen the most recent TPB episode; so any more questions to me in this thread will not be answered for a few days...) StoneMtn
Well, this thread has nearly died, and I am here to resurrect it.The following is from Showcase.ca and sets out what occurred in the last couple of episodes. Things are definitely picking up, with Ray in jail and Lahey drunk off his ass again. (Among other things, I guess we've seen the last of Ray's wheelchair.) Lots to discuss. Comments are welcome...Trailer Park Boys: Season 5Episode #6: Don't Cross the Shit LineBubbles is starving and he asks Ray for food. Ray can't find his liquor or his nine cans of ravioli—Bubbles and Ricky figure Julian must've taken the food and the booze. Ray tries to steal Julian's glass of rum and coke from inside the tent while Julian's sleeping, and Julian snaps. He says he needs to buy his trailer back because the boys are driving him nuts.Meanwhile, Lahey shows Randy his collection of liquor bottles—he's been stealing the boys' liquor for weeks now. Lahey sends Randy to deliver an eviction notice to Ray. The burnt-out trailer shell has got to go. But when Randy visits Ray's, he's not there and the boys pick a fight. Randy threatens to take off his pants to fight Ricky, but Ricky rips Randy's pants off himself. Randy tells Lahey about the fight, and Lahey tells him not to worry. Lahey will get his revenge: Ray crossed the shit line when he told everyone that Lahey was drinking again and the boys are going to pay.J-Roc's making a DVD called "J-Roc's Greasy Trailer Park Girls Gone Wild." No one really wants to act in the porno, but Bubbles agrees to do it for free food, and Ray agrees to do it for free liquor. During the shoot, Bubbles has to slap a girl's butt and Ray gets completely wasted. J-Roc tries to get Ricky to participate by telling him that Lucy is the featured performer in the movie, but Ricky won't do it. Ricky doesn't want the mother of his child to be in a porn film, and decides that he needs to talk Lucy out of it. Lucy doesn't listen, and all the stress is beginning to give Ricky chest pains. Randy and Lahey catch the boys shooting the film, and they notice a stack of empty grocery bins near J-Roc's trailer. It's all the evidence Lahey needs to call the cops. When the cops show up, J-Roc and Tyrone are arrested for stealing groceries and the movie shoot is shut down. Randy and Lahey find the tape and it shows Ray walking around—proof that he's not disabled. Lahey calls the worker's compensation board to report Ray's disability fraud. The police show up at the park again, and this time, they arrest Ray and haul him off to jail. The Winds of ShitJulian devises a clever plan to sell part of their driveway in order to earn extra cash. Ricky gets a job as a janitor at a local vocational school.

Booche
I completely agree ST, but once again, Ricky and Lahey provided some great comic relief last night.
StoneMtn
I just loved the way Ricky scored that job/jacket by making that deal with the administrator at the school. Without going into any details of why I think so, I find that "it's funny because it's true", and is an awesome comment on our society. (I still would have liked to see him go door-to-door and make sales, though. )
secondtube
the only time i laughed is when ricky and julian decided to sell at school....after all, its what school is for....i graduated highschool in four years, and was accepted to college, but i needed to pay for it....so i spent grade 13 in high school. So true.
Booche
I just love it when Ricky cant speak at all proper....what is on his mind and he forgets...........aah fuck! There had to be 2 or 3 of those last night.
StoneMtn
the only time i laughed is when ricky and julian decided to sell at school....after all, its what school is for....i graduated highschool in four years, and was accepted to college, but i needed to pay for it....so i spent grade 13 in high school. So true. Agreed! When I heard Julian ask, "Ricky, where did you make the most money ever selling drugs?" I knew what the answer had to be, and laughed my ass off when I was right.Good thinking of Julian, though, not to send Ricky back to high shool where he'd be the biggest heat-score on campus. kookycanooky
There are already 7 episodes out from this season. Will this sunday be the season finale?I am just curious because both season 3 and 4 are 8 episodes long.

StoneMtn
Fer sher, Kooky. When you pointed out what you did, you had me nervous that I let the whole season slip by without even realizing it was ending. I was relieved to see otherwise on showcase.ca. Three more weeks! Rob Not Bob
A few weird , related TPB questions :1) What is the name of the character who is never actually seen but is occasionally heard screaming his head off in the background? ("Jesus Christ! I paid for a lady, not fucking Corey and Trevor!") I remember Rickey once addressed him by name, but I forget what it was.2) What exactly was it he screamed at Corey and Trevor when they were in the strip club?3) Anyone know who does the voice? My guess is Mike "Bubbles" Smith, but I don't know for sure.
StoneMtn
I can't remember the answers to 1 and 2, but I know that the guy is a member of the crew. He isn't any of the other cast members. I just can't remember his name, but I've heard Mike Clattenburg say it on an interview.Anyone know the answers to 1 and 2?
StoneMtn
Okay, Rob Not Bob. I actually have your answers. I liaised with someone I vaguely know "on the inside" of the TPB production, and here's the skinny:1. The character's name is "Donny", but it is likely that Ricky (or someone) calls him "Danny" at some point.2. Something like (although not verbatim): "Fucking Cory and Trevor; sit down you have fucking erections!"3. I stand corrected re my post above. The voice is, in fact, that of Mike "Bubbles" Smith.SM
Rob Not Bob
Ah, ok, I seemed to recall Ricky calling him Danny when he was throwing the sattellite dishes off the roof but wasn't sure. I remember the line about the erections but wasn't quite sure what it was. Thanks very much for your help.
kookycanooky
Actually, I have a different answer. In season 1, the episode where Mrs. peterson's dog eats the brownies and Trinity shoots rickey, Julian takes them to that Vet, Sam. He helps the dog and rickey in exchange that they steal a riding mower from some farmer...when the do this, the farmer comes out with his shotgun and shoots rickey and the mic-boom operator from the tv crew. THAT guy is definatly your man, he goes off screaming the usual stuff...and you clearly see his face. Now i'm not sure if its the usual mic-boom holder, or if someone on the crew filled that roll just for 1 shot...possibly the director or someone else. You guys be the judges.last nights episode was pretty goodpeace
StoneMtn
Kooky:Firstly: Loved, last night's episode; but no time to write any meaningful comments right now. It was my favourite one this season, though.Second: I really thought that the voice of "Donny" was a crew-member. The person who told me that it was "Bubbles", though, is not likely to be incorrect. It is a person who has been part of the cast and production of the show from Day One.
bouche
I missed last night's episode.Anyway, remember the christmas special when the TPB went back in time to many years earlier when J-Rock was still white?I just remembered the HUGE continuity issue that they never attempted to address. The first TPB episode, it was explained to us that there would be a film crew following them around since they came out of jail. That Xmas special had a film crew following them around and it occurred waaaaaay before the pilot episode, so why were they on camera? kookycanooky
Mmmmm, I dont want to try and set the record straight and say who is wrong and who is right, just a heads up that if your willing to dig up that old episode, it may shead more light on the issue.as for that x-mas episode...I dont want to deal with the continuity errors of it all...haha i honestly don't know. I think that it was good ol' plain filler in the void between tpb seasons. a xmas gift from our dartmouth friends, so to say.
StoneMtn
I am going to pull that episode and check it out. Who knows? Maybe that was a stand-in "Donny" for that one?And as far as continuity, I agree with Kooky. I just look at it like the Simpsons. I mean, Homer's mom ran off to join hippies and wasn't seen again for like 25 years, or else Homer and Grandpa and his mom lived on a commune all together when Homer was growing up, or else... StoneMtn
I'm really proud right now. It's not every father that's in a position to give his 9-year-old daughter a car to drive around. Ricky is awesome. I love the way he gave his little-kid-daughter a car and then sent her to drive right into the roadside spot check where the cops had almost just pulled him over. He then gets all indignant about the cops harrassing his kid.
Del
I still have to argue - Worst Season Ever. Just not as funny as the previous years... It's not bad, but it's far below the standard set before it...
Booche
I doubt I could disagree with you more.Lahey and Ricky have been incredible this season. They have gone back to the strength of the characters and their interactions, which was the standard set in the first 2 seasons. Last season was a disappointment and they obviously paid attention to what the fans were saying during it and afterwards. I wish we got to see more of JROC and his crew this season, but who's to complain when you get this much solid material from Ricky.
