MarcO
ok.... so I post this for fun only but here's the deal.on this thread from this PF message board there is a dude. Dude is from the Toronto area and has had inside scoops on a few things before, not least the Live 8 reunion gig long before it was confirmed. Dude swears that there has been bidding going on between promoters for a reunited Pink Floyd doing a limited series of gigs in Summer of 2006. His buddy is a Ontario promoter putting in a bid - apparently $1-million just for the rights for bidding. Independently, in the past two weeks a promoter in the Philly area has claimed he has nabbed a Floyd show for a "field" in the Philadelphia area in Summer 2006. Now Ontario dude has revealed his promoter buddy has secured the deal for a Floyd show in.......wait for it......you won't believe this.....Owen Sound!?!?!?Like I said, I found this rumour to be interesting enough to share but I don't think I believe it. Having said that, Roger Waters hasn't given an interview since July where he hasn't mentioned how much he would like to work with PF again (even going so far as telling an Italian papaer he'd like to do another album with them). Mason has said he would do it in a heartbeat and let's just assume that Rick Wright is passive enough to so it either way. It seems David Gilmour is the man holding things up this time around.Again, blow me down with a feather should it happen, but can you imagine a reunited Pink Floyd show taking place in OWEN SOUND?!? backbacon
I would pay huge money to see them again... at least $500. Not saying I wouldn't be much happier to pay far less... but yeah, that would be about my limit.

dave-O
Hey, the Rolling Stones played Moncton F'n New Brunswick. If there's a promoter and proper venue (field?) anything can happen. See y'all in Owen Sound.
Jay Funk Dawg
the land in Owen Sound.. The Northern Sound Groove could be the potential land they are talking about, that's where they did the Classic Rock Festival 2 years ago (Alice Cooper, Blue Oyster Cult, Kim Mitchell, Joe Walsh)The Pink Floyd show I saw in '94 or '95 was mind-blowing I'd love to see 'em again, this time with the original line-up. deranger
wow....as it said on their web site after the Live8 announcement..."well, it appears as though hell has now frozen over...."That would be something. A really really expensive something. Can you imagine the kind of chaos people are going to go through to get tickets to that?

secondtube
if it was a field, with no seats, and enough room, how many people in Canada, or say ontario, would go to this show, if it was the ONLY stop in Canada?1/4 Million?1/2 Million? It'll at least double SarsStock. At least.
Jay Funk Dawg
I don't think that it could be double Sarstock. I mean Pink Floyd aren't as popular as The Rolling Stones/ACDC/RUSH/SAM ROBERTS/JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE/THE GUESS WHO ETC They say there was an estimated 500,000 people at Sarstock...and at $15 almost anyone could go. For Pink Floyd expect at least a $100 ticket.
secondtube
i believe at 100 dollars a ticket, i'd MUCH rather see Floyd than all those bands put together. And i know i'm not the only one. at 100 dollars a ticket, to get a spot on a piece of grass, i'd see easily half million. i thought sarstock was only a quarter million. Dr_Evil_Mouse
While I am afraid of the astronomical price for tix, damn, this would be something worth seeing. Here's hoping Waters seizes the moment and writes all new lyrics for everything from Momentary Lapse onwards, cuz Gilmour's are shite.
MarcO
hey it's probably not true but it is fun to think about.there would have to be a decent cap at attendance. Can you imagine 1/4 million people all trying to get through Owen Sound in one day?
