Would a song that has nothing to do with my roots, but for which there's a video that does have something to do with my roots, be too broad an interpretation?

Aloha,

Brad

I might be bursting a bubble here, but I'm pretty sure the Burlington mentioned is the one in Vermont. The reference to the "square in the center of town" is clearly about the one in Vermont, and bluestraveler.net also states that it's a Vermont reference. And while this is not a tune that BT has ever played live in its entirety, they've played teases of it when in Burlington, VT, leading me to further believe it's about the American city. Sorry brah. (Though I've definitely been wrong before).

This is a pretty personal theme, so it's your call. If the video has given the song a meaning to you that reflects your roots, then by all means include it. (Unless, of course, the video is for "Check the O.R.", in which case Tom Green's Senators hat does not make the song about Ottawa).
