What I had in mind was the one song (or one of a few songs) that the general music-listening public automatically thinks of when a given artist is mentioned - even though, often times, these songs are anomalies in the artist's deeper catalogue. I used "No Rain" as an example because it is the only Blind Melon song that *most* people are familiar with, yet it doesn't sound like most of the rest of their catalogue.
