YearsAlongTheSea
I like Rebeh Higgs. Sweet, sweet voice, thick smooth sound. Don't see the Be Good Tanya connection other than a slight bluegrass infusion.I like the little of Zen Media Band and Sobeit Union I heard. That's all I got around to hearing... allison
I gave all of these bands about 30 seconds ...so take that into consideration..I'm with YATS , although a little less positice about R.Higgs.I liked it but something in her voice bugs me.I prefer this upcoming East Coaster Rose CousinsThe Zenmedia stuff I reacted to because it was a familiar happy sound-I didn't stick around long enough to see if it got syrupy. All the others didnt register any other impulse but "Next".The Marc Victor I stuck with a bit longer.I liked it. Baj
ha! no I think they are from the falls...so their site says... caught them just by chance one night when captainsunshine and I took her parents, when they were up here visiting, to the ol' red rooster for some drinks... cazy set up in that bar, seems like a high end sound system with a soundboard booth and all, with a couple timed cameras that put the show up on the surrounding flat screens... anyways... out of the three reeeeally loud bands..haha these guys sounded the best and were funny,it was the lead singers 19th birthday that looked 15,and sayin they would exchange joints for their disc at the merch booth Edited April 12, 2007 by Guest

weezy
c-towns is such a crusty bitch. Here's some half-assed reviews...panacea - hate the name, music is a bit too high-brow, but they are very good musicians, I just don't know how exciting they'd be to see live.rebekah higgs - she's good, kinda a bit like Feist/Emily Haines etc. I'd hit it.copilots - great stuff, very canadian sounding. Just a bit too country for me to pay the cover...Sheepdogs - excellent rock n' roll. they sound like the stones meets weezer.Musty Steers - c'mon get a better name.... although after listening to them, it's a very fitting name. They suck.National Frost - interesting... very dramatic and soothing... a little boring for me, but I think they're good.said the whale - good band. they sound like elvis costello meets rufus wainright sort-of. it's original and engaging - I'd go see them live.Zen Media - wassabi like?? you mean exactly like wassabi. not bad, but unoriginal.after all these years - I don't like country music.so be it union - not in the same league as most of these other bands, music needs lots of work but there's potential. However, their live show looks like fun - SILVER PANTS!

Here's some half-assed reviews...panacea - hate the name, music is a bit too high-brow, but they are very good musicians, I just don't know how exciting they'd be to see live. These guys are hyped to be an incredible live band.
