Jaimoe
AD, with all the voluntary pimping of The Stripes for weeks and you couldn't stay even slightly tipsy for their show. For shame!
AD
my pacing was totally fucked that night. i know i liked it though, hehehe
Niplit
I ended up leaving the White Stripes show after 40 minutes due to a pretty nasty crowd surrounding us. On the plus side, made it to about the last 45 minutes of Hawksley Workman which was EPIC! Will never miss him again. Regardless, I don't think anything this week really came close to the Femi Kuti show. Unbelievable energy, and impossible to stop dancing.

boiler
I'll go opposite here cuz we all know who was good, here's who I thought were Bad :1. Hedley (I heard Velvet suggested to William that they give Iron Maiden back their font)2. Hedley (fuck they suck, I wish I didn't have to pass that stage while I was leaving)3. Faber Drive (I'm pretty sure they were a Hedley cover band or something)4. I think Hedley should die5. Manu Chao (over rated, over rated O O Overraated, everybody clap now, raise your arms from side to side woooohooo)6. Thorogood sucked ass too. Can anyone say "Cheese"So now we all know Hedley sucks here's some other honourable mentions of who were actually good that weren't mentioned already.Ukrania was a blastBob Schnieder was a lot of fun.Leahy had me step dancing like a fool (and wanting to punch out lawn chair man)Shout Out Out Out were very intriguing, they'd be a hell of a lot of fun in a club.Leo Kottke was a real pleasure.Elmer Ferrer was cool to see alsoEven though they weren't a part of Bluesfest, Wassabi is at the top of their game. Their drummer is incredible. Edited July 17, 2007 by Guest

bagochips
I'm surprised that nobody (that I have noticed)has mentioned John Carroll. He played outside the festival on the corner near the main entrance, doing a few originals but mostly covering Tom Waits and the like. I thought he was great. He has been doing this for a few years now and has a gig at the Laff every Wednesday night. Quarts anyone?
bagochips
Oh yeah, and in no particular order: Femi Kuti, Leo Kottke, White Stripes, Sharon Jones, Elmer Ferrer, Buddy Guy and Los Lobos. No particular order, but Femi was hands down the best show I saw.

bradm
Pitchfork has an interview with Toumani Diabate, in whichIn Ottawa, after my concert at a folk festival I had a man and his family approach me and they said that when their daughter was born, they were looking for a name to give to her. Finally, they took the name of my song and they gave it to their daughter. They brought a picture to me.Aloha,Brad
