c-towns
Anyone seen him play yet? I'm going to see him play in Barrie tonight, any thoughts? Can you drink at OHL games?
PassedOutGuy
He's been on fire this year and its been quite some time since the Generals have been in first place this far into the season...
M.O.B.E
Taveres is 50% hype. He gets alot more credit from the other players on the ice than he should. He cracks under pressure but he is only 17 still. He has a long way to go but he could be something special.
Jaimoe
You can drink at OHL games in designated areas, but not in the stands, although you may be able to get away with it in Oshawa.

AD
There are a ton of Ottawa folks from this board who will tell you that drinking is definitely happening at OHL games... but they're too hungover to get on the internet I bet. You can drink right at your seats. 4 sections of the bowl are for family seating and there is no booze but the rest of the rink is a pissfest. Booche
Taveres is 50% hype.I dont agree with that. He's going to be a top pick in the draft because his potential upside is huge.

Few really have staggeringly high junior points numbers. I realize Tavares isn't a power-forward, but the kid has alwasys had a nose for the net. He's also no pussy either. badams
He is like so many before him. His potential IS huge. We'll know what he is made of when he gets to the show. Up until now he has been impressive.
Whitey
I don't agree with that either, he is doing great right now. 50 points in 20 games. Can't ask much more than that. I am going to see him on Friday night in London.
Jaimoe
It always matters who you play with. That great line in London from last year and the year before will probably see all three turn into big NHL stars.

rubberdinghy
oh, I should have talked about the game...A 10-3 blow-out by the 67's...fights, the whole nine...Couture is awesome.
c-towns
That kid is definately being hyped up, he didn't look like NHL caliber last night, maybe it was an off game for the guy but I wasn't impressed at all. He did take a horrible dive and stayed on the ice until the ensuing fight was finished, then he got right up and continued his regular shifts, pretty weak. Booche
he didn't look like NHL caliber last nightHe's a kid in the OHL!The only reason the hype has become almost hysteria-like is because JFJ made that publicity move to save his own ass. Guest Low Roller
Is there still talk of bending the rules to allow Tavares to become eligible for next year's draft?

dave-O
From the little I've seen, Tavares doesn't play an exciting or flashy style but he still piles up the points. He has the potential to become an elite NHLer, but I doubt he'll ever get Crosby or Ovechkin level attention because of that.
Jaimoe
He kinda reminds me of Marc Savard without the weaselness.
