Booche
I can see it tomorrow a deal which will include Ray Emery for Mats Sundin : They will then sign Peter Forsberg to a deal and then you will have the 3 big swedish line of Mats Sundin, Peter Forsberg, and Daniel Alfredsson. badams
I have it on decent authority that this trade is pretty close to going through.Ryder or Dandenault or both to Atlanta for HossaDon't kill me if it doesn't happen. I am just reporting what I heard.
Guest Low Roller
Although I'm sure that my source (i.e. The Internet) is much MUCH less reliable than yours, the word was that Gainey wouldn't trade for Hossa unless Hossa would agree to an extension first... Kanada Kev
I think that I heard Pierre McGuire mention the rumour of Hossa going to Montreal too. Believe it when you see it. There are a lot of smoke and mirrors at this time of year
Booche
Ryder or Dandenault or both to Atlanta for HossaRidiculous trade by Atlanta. No one could be that stupid. There would have to be at least one other decent prospect and a first rounder and even then, I am sure they could get more elsewhere.

badams
I only say what I hear. Take it for what you will. Plus things can change on a dime and none of us are completely in the know. Except Booche of course

MattyC
this is what the old shitty penguin is saying..The Montreal Canadiens do not have permission to talk to the agent of Atlanta winger Marian Hossa about a new long-term contract. So says Atlanta Thrashers GM Don Waddell, amid reports yesterday that Habs' GM Bob Gainey had been given permission to explore options with Hossa, who is scheduled to become an unrestricted free agent on July 1, in advance of a possible trade with the Thrashers."There's no truth to it," Waddell told TSN. "None at all."In fact, Waddell is still trying to sign Hossa to a long-term contract to stay in Atlanta. Waddell has been negotiating this week with Hossa's Edmonton-based agent Ritch Winter. The Thrashers expect to know by the beginning of next week whether a deal can be reached. If a deal isn't in place by the beginning of next week, sources say Waddell will shop Hossa to see what he will fetch, but that should not be confused with an absolute commitment to trade him. That decision will be dictated by the Thrashers' play between now and the Feb. 26th trade deadline. If the Thrashers are competing for a Southeast Division title and/or a playoff spot, Waddell will have to weigh his options – keep Hossa for the stretch drive and playoffs and risk losing him for nothing on July 1 or weaken his team in the short term and perhaps derail the playoff run to acquire long-term assets by trading Hossa before the deadline. c-towns
What team in the running for Forsberg would benifit most from his services? I would say Vancouver.
Kanada Kev
What team in the running for Forsberg would benifit most from his services? I would say Vancouver. Which city wants to get Forsberg to make use of their HEALTH services? I've always appreciated Forsberg as a player ... it's just too bad that lately it seems that his body has been letting him down with injuries
