bradm
7/1 - Dave Brubeck QuartetThere was a report that Brubeck had to cancel an April 3 festival appearance due to ill health (a viral infection). Here's hoping he gets better, and is able to get to Toronto.Aloha,Brad

Jay Funk Dawg
7/4 - Elaine Eliasthis woman is awesome! She's in this great film called "Calle 54" and is a smoking hot blonde woman with an amazing latin jazz piano skills.I interviewed her former Husband Randy Brecker and he had still nothing but respect and admiration for her skills. Jaimoe
Tony Bennett will more than likely be added as a headliner today and Sonny Rollins has also been invited to this year's fest.

hamilton
I saw Sonny Rollins last summer and he was awesome! Doubly so considering that he's pushing 80.And the Gary Burton Quartet?!?! That will be awesome! Throw in the MMW, Brubeck and Al Di Meola, and you've got one hell of a good festival on your hands!

hamilton
7/3 - An Evening with Branford MarsalisThis is actually a co-headlining double-bill with the Dave Holland Quintet, which makes it even more mind-blowingly cool!!The festival has also announced Susan Tedeschi for the same night at the Opera House. Velvet
The DAve Holland Quintet is one of the most vital and innovating jazz ensembles touring. See 'em if you can.
Basher
Question for those that have attended: Is it worth it to spend the $30 and be inside the tent? I mean, I know you can hear things perfectly fine outside, but you really can't see shit.
Schwa.
i could see and hear everything perfectly at Derek Trucks there a few years back. there are more chatty people on the outside of the "fence" but that didn't bother me too much as it was fairly loud. phishtaper
depends on what $30 means to you, i guess, basher. outside ain't bad, but it ain't great either. i say pay the $30 and go in, or wander in and out. you can see the band and the sound is way better inside. GA seats are available, but aren't that comfortable (long tables with plastic lawn chairs). drinks are inside (and outside too maybe, around back/east?). another advantage of inside is that it is covered if it rains but it can get really sweaty hot sometimes. overall, inside 9/10; outside 7/10. Basher
Well, I got a $50 US TicketBastard gift card eating a hole in my pocket.
Jakis
The best part about being outside is being able to drink your own tall cans! They sell tall can's of heineken and grolsch outside and leave it in the can. So you can easily bring a bunch of your own tall cans and they never know you didn't buy them! Basher
That's inspiring and all, but isn't a goal I was looking to achieve.
Jakis
But I agree the sound is much better in the tent. I loved the mmw with scofield show under the tent a couple of years ago.
Schwa.
in that case i'd use the free voucher for close up MMW seats.
