dimafleck: the living legend.
it is completley ludacris for a group of people that are fighting for the rights of others to completely abuse their own.

Northern Wish
Yep, they took their protest up the on ramps of the Gardiner and effectively shut it down yesterday. I got lucky; I was on the 401 from Ford Drive out past Pickering en route to Ottawa and the traffic was fine.
phishtaper
if a group protesting something undertakes the drastic action of actually occupying a major highway, then they'd better make damn sure that they are in a position to very clearly communicate their concerns and what they want the rest of us to do about it. they just haven't done a good job of getting their message out and we are left to make assumptions. the protesters seem disorganized and frustrated. it's a horrific situation that they are protesting (although, historically the radical Tamil Tigers have been viewed as a terrorist group themselves), but unless they provide us with some avenue to help support them, they cannot expect much more than anger from us. despite 5,000 to 7,000 protesters marching this weekend, they really do need a good PR firm. bouche
imagine if you really had to take a major shit and you're stuck there? I'm sure there could be worse situations like being in labour, or bleeding to death.
Davey Boy 2.0
seemed to get them some of the desired effect:Siva Vimal, a spokesman for the protesters, said they ended the blockade only after receiving a promise from federal Liberal Leader Michael Ignatieff's deputy chief of staff that their concerns will be brought up Monday in Parliament.
