dave-O
Let me be the first to make this (obvious) prediction:Speeza drop pass to Kovalev; Kovalev drop pass to Speeza; Speeza drop pass to... no one; other team skates length of ice and scores. Booche
Speeza drop pass to Kovalev; Kovalev drop pass to Speeza; Speeza drop pass to... no one; other team skates length of ice and scores. Maybe the first 10-15 games until Alex notices a pattern at which point he is going to stop passing to him. I just realized that Kovalev is going to get 18 pts against the Habs next season, not including playoffs. He is going to terrorize Price.

rubberdinghy
12-16-0 record, 3.14 goals-against average and a .892 save percentage.Awesome!!!5 million for Kovalev...not sure about that....If Murray can pull off a trade for Heatley for another half decent/cheap winger, we'd have two allright lines..."The Monster" signs with the Leaves. Booche
The best thing about that Kovalev signing is that it is only for 2 years. Murray deserves applause for that.

Kanada Kev
http://tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=283954 GUSTAVSSON MAKES DECISION, EXPECTED TO SIGN WITH MAPLE LEAFS Swedish free agent goaltender Jonas Gustavsson has decided to call Toronto home. Gustavsson, who is nicknamed "The Monster," is expected to sign a one-year deal with the Leafs worth $810,000, including a signing bonus of $90,000, to back up current starter Vesa Toskala. The 24-year-old Gustavsson, visited several NHL clubs before choosing the Maple Leafs; Colorado, San Jose and Dallas being the others interested in signing him. Labeled the best goaltender outside of the NHL last season, the 6'3", 181 lb backstop was the top goalie in the Swedish Elite League last season while playing for Farjestad. He posted a 1.96 goals against average and a save percentage of .932 in the regular season, and led the team to the league championship this spring. Guest Low Roller
The NorthEast should be a fun division to watch this coming season- The reboot Habs, the fragile talented Sens, the bruiser Leafs, the powerhouse Bruins, and the SOL Sabres. Booche
In my mind, this is a great trade whether it works out or not. It's exactly what Philly needed outside of a goalie. He's now signed until he retires plus they made the move before he turned 35 so the moment he retires his cap hit comes off the books (unless I am mistaken here but I am pretty sure that is how it works). No wonder he cost so much at the NHL Draft:The Philadelphia Flyers have locked up veteran defenseman Chris Pronger to a seven-year, $35 million contract extension. Guest Low Roller
Buddy is a Flyers fan, and he lamented this trade because it saw a lot of the top prospects go the other way. But Pronger will be a solid addition to their blueline for years to come, which should offset the loss of the prospects. The perception of a weaker Eastern Conference is losing validity by the day.
