mister slippery
That's a good idea.Isnt Keane going somewhere else though, possibly? Thus limiting his ability to play in the tournament for Spurs?I could be way off, but thought he was close to leaving y'all.
ollie
He came on as a sub in the first leg against Young Boys. He set up Pav's goal and almost another one, for Dos Santos I think it was. He's past his prime but still versatile enough and has European experience via the UEFA Cup, and scored with Liverpool in the CL that one year. So yeah, in Keane I trust. Davey Boy 2.0
Keane in a midfield striker role.noob, confirmedThat's a good idea. Who's more foolish: the fool, or the fool who follows him? Edited August 25, 2010 by Guest :-P
mister slippery
ollie - if he's already played then nevermind, won't impact any potential deals.DB - 12 goals in 16 appearances for Celtic last year while on loan, plus SPL player of the year for March. I know he may have lost a step, but sure, I'd play him. Not looking for him to sign a 5-year deal to move to Stamford Bridge, but perhaps he could help you guys? :content:
Davey Boy 2.0
I was laughing more at the "midfield striker" thing, but come on- you yourself could score 12 in 16 appearances for Celtic against the likes of Motherwell, Dundee, Falkirk etc;nice dig though, "perhaps he could help you guys"
ollie
How would you play him then? I was just thinking he'd be good at moving up to feed Pav or holding back to defend depending on the situation of play.
Davey Boy 2.0
a striker is a striker, a midfielder is a midfielderI may be splitting hairs in that I know what you mean, but the correct term is attacking midfielder or withdrawn striker (who btw, traditionally wears the #9)

ollie
Spurs starting XI:01 Gomes03 Bale20 Dawson22 Corluka26 King32 Assou-Ekotto06 Huddlestone07 Lennon12 Palacios15 Crouch18 DefoeSubstitutes23 Cudicini, 04 Kaboul, 08 Jenas, 21 Kranjcar, 09 Pavlyuchenko, 10 Keane, 17 GiovaniAssou-yellow-card-in-the-first-five-minutes-Ekotto in the midfield? Or should that be Bale there? Lennon ahead of Kranjcar? Crouch and Defoe? That's pretty far off my first choice. I'd definitely want 4 of those benches players in the match and that ain't happening with only 3 subs!

ollie
if no, do you fear spoilers? Was avoiding this thread but thanks for asking. Anyway, FUCKING BRAVO SPORTSNET!! I PVR'd the match on Sportsnet Ontario only to find they were broadcasting a fucking test pattern the whole time! Did someone not catch this after, say, the first fucking half hour?! IDIOTS!! Thankfully it looks like the match was sealed fairly early. At least I'll be right crunked for the 11 PM replay. FUCK!! Delighted for Spurs though. And I suck at picking a starting XI. ollie
Bad-ass banner. For the second time in two seasons, Aston Villa's Europa League ambitions were snuffed out by a second-half fightback from Rapid Vienna.
Davey Boy 2.0
I was thinking that that's not a bad draw for the Lillywhites... Bremen and Enschade aren't too tough, esp compared to AC Milan, Real Madrid & Ajax
