bradm
Here's what interests me for tonight, Thursday, June 20:Ken Vandermark & Joe McPhee Duo: heavy improvised jazz by two of the best in the business; NAC 4th Stage, 6pmLean Left: "a positively apocalyptic quartet: an elemental musical force featuring Grade A international players zoning in and scrambling together rock, jazz, noise and blistering free improv into a highly-charged onstage assault, each member taking their sound to the edge"; NAC 4th Stage, 8pm. (Lean Left also has Ken Vandermark in it.)Dr. John & The Nite Trippers: a legend of New Orleans music; Confederation Park, 9pm.Aloha,Brad Edited June 20, 2013 by Guest

AD
I unexpectedly have to be out of town from Monday through the end of the festival. I reluctantly have to sell my two passes, from Monday June 24 to the end of the festival. I'd like to get between $80-$100 for each of the passes. If you or anyone you know needs a pass for that week of the festival, please let me know.
Hartamophone
I was cursing all of you who were there last night. Being in my office until 10:45 was bad enough, but having to hear little snippets of music and cheering throughout the night was its own kind of cruel.Jerks. bradm
Here's what I'm interested in for day 2, Friday, June 21:Willie Nelson & Family is the big one for me tonight. Getting the chance to see Willie in a space like Confederation Park is going to be a treat.Aoife O’Donovan is on after Willie, so I'll probably head across the street to check her out.Aloha,Brad

AD
Did the eventually move all the plastic chairs and tables out of the tent to make room for people?I left shortly after the 2nd song because I couldn't see or hear anything well from outside the tent. Freak By Night
A lot of people left by about 11:15, and it really opened up. It was easy to get close for a good view. The chairs and tables stayed put. I left just before midnight, it's great that he played so much later.
bouche
tip...behind the tent there is a path to get to the other side. I just had to hop over a cement block and the other side was amazingly perfect. Great sound and could get right up to the stage. Easy to get a beer there too. bradm
The big one for me on Thursday, June 27 is Stretch Orchestra, at 8:00pm, NAC 4th Stage. (Ottawa Jazz Scene has a profile article on them here.) Boz Scaggs is on the main stage at 8:30pm, which should be pretty cool afterwards.Aloha,Brad

bradm
Friday, June 28 has a few acts that interest me. The first is The Craig Pedersen Quartet, on the OLG Stage at noon, which is a free show. (There are live recordings of them here.)This evening, I'm looking to check out Larry Goldings/Peter Bernstein/Bill Stewart in the NAC Studio at 7:00pm first, then The Bad Plus on the main stage at 8:30pm. What, if anything, is left of me after that will probably go to The Herbalizer on the OLG Stage at 10:15pm.Aloha,Brad
