  2. here's the menu for diwali!
  3. it's pretty ignorant to think you have unlimited internet with your cell phone here. while that bill is ridiculous, they were idiots for not becoming aware of their plan and fees.

if i were an dude working in an gasoline auto plant I would consider training myself for another career. I don't think you can plan your life around a career like that these days.
  5. you should have tried the ganja fritters.
  6. holy fuck. that was a fun little excursion I wish that I had brought my camera to make y'all salivate. Diwali was probably my favourite tasty treat today. It is an indian restaurant that used to be The Roses Cafe. The chef was a genius. Well, his samosas and pakoras with spicy chutney was incredible. He also created a floral arrangement out of various root vegetables. Gastro pub was serving up their homemade ice cream. banana-caramel and a raspberry ice cream. Even the caramel was made by the chef. The lineup there grew exponentially. Parma Ravioli was serving up some cannelloni in tomato sauce and a parsnip ravioli in a parmesan garlic cream sauce. beside their table there was some biscotti and some other treat (i forget it's name) by the french baker. delicious. the Three Tarts had a table full of cakes and cookies....all fresh. The Diner was serving up some sweet and spicy chili with a cool rice pudding as another option. there was lots of stuff going around. I just sampled and sampled and I am now full. If you do go, park in the side streets behind the loeb.
  7. dude. you are not the part of this market of fantasy technology that I'm talking about.
  8. what? Ther was no "When Doves Cry"???
  9. fuck. phish had the best light shows. UNTIL I SAW RADIOHEAD!
  10. ipod touch is not a reliable internet phone device. I can only use a wireless a/b/g/n network. Not cellphone networks. a new 3G iPhone is expected to launch on monday with possibly support in Canada by Rogers which means that you're likely to see me with a wireless phone device in the next couple of years. if Apple decides to stuff a phone in my iPod, I have no control over that.
  11. Start a western thread so I can post Unforgiven as a great movie (it fits in this thread actually). SInce we live in quebec, the front plate is OPTIONAL! I love that. however, my BOUCHE plate is decommissioned until a: quebec allows bordering province plates as custom plates or b: we move back to Ontario.
  12. how much is the phone for that dude? (i'm almost sold!)
  13. silent auctions are alot of fun. you just need a piece of paper with what you have suggested, including a retail value and a minimum bid. Minto does one at their xmas parties and I always have fun browsing. I got the first box set of seinfeld (when it came out) for about 40 bucks under the retail price. however, as the auctioneer, how are you going to ensure that you get paid? You need to have various methods of payment. The auctions that I participated in allowed the use of mastercard. I don't think you'll be able to set that up though. There is likely a risk of drunken people bidding and then taking off, forgetting and not even leaving contact info or even real info. There is probably a process to go to the next highest bid, if someone flakes out that evening. I remember seeing the retail value on a card, a starting bid, and then an incremental value (different depending on the item) and columns for bid amount, name, and phone number. if that helps.
  14. halloween costume ftw!
  15. If I were you, I would then look at what else I would like to do with the phone besides talking. Camera features, playing music, doing video, browsing the internet, etc are all viable options. Sharon's got a razor for work and it does everything but video (or maybe it does). However, it's pretty much used only for taking/making calls. I think that your base options actually include a camera these days and they give these things away with a 2 year contract.
  16. You're very correct dude. Here's proof! (that's our car) I concur that this topic has come up before, but it should come up at least every couple of years or even yearly. People discover films and new shit comes out all the time. However, for me I think everything that I really love to this point has been posted. I love seeing Star Wars in a chick's list. That's so awesome! I was going to try and add something different and then saw that Memento was already posted. That movie blew my mind.

  18. Davey Boy just told Sharon about this event. We have to be out of our house for more viewings (come on St. Joseph, sell our f'n house already!) so we'll definitely be checking this out. Taste treat in Wellington Village Charming food focus of event this Saturday Gay Cook The Ottawa Citizen Wednesday, May 30, 2007 A Taste of Wellington in the newly christened Wellington West Village is an exciting new event to introduce restaurateurs to Ottawa's epicurean row. There will be delightful nibbles to taste and drinks to sip, as visitors frequent the many restaurants, browse for books, shop for classy clothing and baby gear, and check out the newest gourmet items from tea to chocolates. Wellington West Village runs between Island Park Drive and Parkdale Avenue. The tasting event takes place Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wellington West Village is the work of a determined group of area merchants and restaurants that formed the Wellington Village Business Association, representing businesses between Westboro and Hintonburg. They invite you to discover this charming village with more than 30 food stores, restaurants, bakeries and caterers. One restaurant taking part is The Diner, 1385 Wellington St. Chef Michael Sobcov (formerly of Juniper Kitchen & Wine Bar) and co-owner Ron Shrybman (proprietor of Elgin Street Diner) put their minds together to develop free mini-burgers served in tiny buns made by Art-is-in Bakery. The restaurant will also feature its popular Chicken Asparagus Pot Pie in the restaurant (recipe at right). The Diner is open daily 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. and offers many old-fashioned dishes from slow-cooked pot roast to shepherd's pie. A highlight of the day's activities will be a contest involving up to 13 restaurants and food stores for the best asparagus recipe. Winners will be announced at 4 p.m.

no it's not, but it is PRETTY FUCKING INCREDIBLE for what it IS doing! wow! It covered me from Hull to my workplace in Ottawa, and gave me nearly the same route that I would take. I used to take the route that it gave me until I got some experience and learned of a closer stop to my house.
  21. Since you are in the consideration phase, is it ok to ask some questions to help you decide whether or not you really need a cell phone in the first place? Yes? ok. Question 1: why do you want a cell phone ? Question 2: do you travel alot? Question 3: how often do you find yourself in a situation where you cannot find a phone? (this includes not being near people that have a cell phone) Question 4: are you at risk of needing to call emergency services? Question 5: do you want to live without a landline? Question 6: are you rarely near your landline? ok...that's all I got for now! if you are getting a phone, there are so many types of phones, features and services to choose from, that it's fucking crazy out there. iPhone (coming monday!), HTC touch, motorola, blackberry, etc... i live without a cell phone and I can't think of a reason to get one.
