It's probably more fair and accurate to compare folkfest with folkfest. I spent a day there a few years ago or so, and there wasn't much going on AT ALL. Aside from some pretty outstanding bluegrass acts in the afternoon and It's quite amazing how much it has changed for the better.

i pulled out my telescope hoping to figure out how to set the shit up with the right lens and the sun filter, find the sun, and then get it in focus. success! I pulled my neighbours over so they could take a peek. I think it's odd that it's not on the labour day weekend, but I don't remember folkfest having any direct tie to labour day weekend. Bluesfest doesn't plan itself for any special long weekend. IMHO, if the chose the weekend based on artist scheduling then that is probably a wise decision which should make music fans happy. I guess we'll see what they have in store.

The lineup for this year's folkfest is being announced next wednesday. The fest is running from Sept.6 to Sept.10 this year. I wasn't around for it last year, but damn it looked good. I look forward to the lack of electronica.
