  1. Yup ... and Birkenstocks in snowstorms don't work so good either, eh?
  2. Yeah, and unless you're going in late, they often have a lineup to get in (for id checks and pat downs) ... you'll freeze if you leave your coat in the car/hotel room
  3. Town Ballroom? Yup, they have a coatcheck in the bar when you first get in. It gets pretty damn hot in the venue and the last thing you want to be dragging around are winter coats (because Buffalo is always FREEZING cold). I think it was $2 or $3 when I was there for moe. the other week.
  4. Sorry to hear of your misfortune. I hate people who pull that kind of shit. Stuff is stuff, but loved ones (such as pets) are irreplaceable. I'm glad your pooch is back in your caring hands and that they fared well considering they had a stranger(s) break into their house. Have you started scoping out the pawn shops? Is there anything that you guys need that can't be easily replaced with the insurance $$$?? Need any CDs/DVDs? Always willing to help out with some copies, etc.

  6. I have this at home and haven't had a chance to watch it yet. Interesting seeing the differing views on the flick as to it being good/bad
  7. Glad you had a good time ... see you at Wooten if not sooner
  8. http://www.empireonline.com/news/story.asp?NID=21961 08 February 2008 Scorsese To Make Bob Marley Documentary To be released for his 65th birthday Source: Variety Scorsese To Make Bob Marley Documentary Having documented Bob Dylan and The Rolling Stones, Martin Scorsese is now turning his attentions to Bob Marley. It even already has a release date of February 6, 2010, which would have been Marley's 65th birthday. We're no Marley experts, but his life would seem to offer a great deal of material for a film, since there's not only his music to cover, but also his peace efforts , his religious beliefs and his untimely death. Scorsese is building himself a nice collection of music documentaries. For his next, we'd suggest either Janice Joplin, Jimmi Hendrix or The Reynolds Girls. Olly Richards
  9. Heading over to the 2nd floor of the Black Swan right now for some barley sandwiches. Hickster ... check your PMs, I think i've got a ticket for ya.

  12. http://www.turnitonagain.com/ I know we have a few fans of Genesis here on this board. Now, I know that many people are unfamiliar with their absolutely absolutely incredible live performances, but I highly encourage people to check out their older material. Genesis put out amazing material over the years. Many fans (just like Deadheads, Phisheads, etc.) prefer certain "eras" of the band's sound. For me, the material While Steve Hackett remained in the band is the best. The Collins-era stuff that I still enjoy is limited to the Duke album primarily. Saturday night in Toronto an amazing tribute to Genesis will be performing at the Danforth Music Hall. Turn It On Again are fronted by an incredibly talented drummer and singer, Martin LeVac. He performed with the penultimate Gabriel-era Genesis tribute, The Musical Box, for the past number of years. He has returned to his old band and will be recreating the 1982 Three Sides Live Encore Tour show. If you want to see some great musicianship, performance, sound and light, come on out to the show. The keyboardist for The Musical Box, David Myers, will be opening the show with his arrangements of Genesis material for the piano. Really good stuff too. There's going to be a pre-show party at The Black Swan across the street starting around 4:30pm. Post show party at the same place and the band will be coming over to hang out. Tune IN: Saturday February 9th, 2008 From 9AM PST to 1AM PST The annual KPFA Grateful Dead marathon, produced and hosted by David Gans, is a fund-raiser for America's first listener-sponsored radio station and a station whose history has been entwined with the Dead's since before the band was born. 17. I think I may get ordained First ... nap. http://www.dudeism.com/ Dudeists of the World Unite Come join the slowest-growing religion in the world - Dudeism. An ancient philosophy that preaches non-preachiness, practices as little as possible, and above all, uh...lost my train of thought there. Anyway, if you'd like to find peace on earth and goodwill, man, we'll help you get started. Right after a little nap.
  18. ain't no time to hate . . . Bizarre, last 3 games for the Leafs result in beating 2 of the best in the East (Montreal and Ottawa) and losing brutally to one of the worst (Florida). They won't make the playoffs, but look for the Leafs to be one of those pesky spoiler teams when it comes to those going for position in the playoffs. Go Flames Go.
