  7. http://www.nme.com/news/neil-young/53873 Neil Young has blamed a fire at his San Francisco warehouse on a fault in a fuel-efficient car he had been working on. The music legend lost musical instruments and memorabilia as a result of the fire, which took place on November 9 and resulted in an estimated $850,000-worth (£534,000) of damage, reports BBC News. He has now said he believes the fire was caused by the charging system he had been using on his so-called LincVolt car – a project for which Young converted a 1959 Lincoln Continental car to run off battery power. "The wall charging system was not completely tested and had never been left unattended. A mistake was made. It was not the fault of the car," Young wrote on LincVolt.com. He vowed to continue with the project, which aims to increase fuel-efficient travel, writing: "Our project is to demonstrate alternative energies for transportation that are clean. We're still in a race against time. On a project like this, setbacks happen for a reason and we can see that very well from here." The LincVolt was severely damaged as a result of the fire, although Young says he hopes to rebuild it using parts from similar models.
  8. How come this is on the site but not avail in Canada? I don't care about the 3D, but it would be fun to watch. http://www.netflix.com/Movie/Phish-3D/70138813?trkid=1660 Phish 3D The wildly popular and eclectic band Phish storms the screen in a 2009 3-D concert experience filmed in front of 40,000 enthusiastic fans during a three-day, multifestival event held in Southern California. One of Phish's most intriguing innovations -- the musical costume -- is documented with their rollicking recreation of the entire Rolling Stones album "Exile on Main St." Excerpts from a full-length acoustic set are also featured. Cast: Phish, Trey Anastasio, Jon Fishman, Page McConnell Genres: Music & Musicals, Modern & Alternative Rock, Rock & Pop This title is not available
  9. Ugh. I got the biker treatment at Kingswood once. Nobody hurt luckily. ABB show. Had to boogie. We were right at the front of the lawns. Got a growly "sit the fuck down" from behind. Did the "ignore" option, but that didn't work. On the second or third order from behind I turned around. Noticed it was a huge-ass motherfucker of a biker and a couple of buddies. Gave him a "come on, really?" look and decided it wasn't worth it. Waited it out and in about 30mins everyone was up and dancing and all was good. Pick your battles ... enjoy the show first and foremost.

  13. Damn! Watched the highlights last night and was shocked to see how they came back to win it. The first period looked dreadful! Hope Giguere is OK. Gustavsson did an admirable job to hang on for those final minutes. Parade = ON!
  14. This is a fantastic SCI show. I know there are a lot of haters out there, but this is what my fond memories of the band are (not like their horrific halloween show from a couple of weeks ago ... blecchh). http://bit.ly/db78Bl The String Cheese Incident – Rhythm of the Road Vol 1 (11/17/2000) The String Cheese Incident announces their brand new live archival series with Rhythm of the Road: Volume 1, Incident in Atlanta – 11.17.00, the first offering in SCI’s new series “Rhythm of the Road†which will be highlighting many of the band’s most celebrated concerts with re-mastered limited edition releases. 16. http://bit.ly/alWxO6 Talking Heads – The Name Of This Band Is Although most people probably think the only Talking Heads live release is Stop Making Sense, the fact is that there’s an earlier, better live album called The Name of This Band Is Talking Heads. Originally released in 1982 on LP and cassette, the album chronicles the growth of the band, both stylistically and personnel-wise. The first LP is the original quartet version of the band, recorded between 1977 and 1979, performing excellent versions of tunes (mostly) off 77 and More Songs About Buildings and Food. Also included were the previously unavailable “A Clean Break†and “Love Goes to a Building on Fire,†as well as early versions of “Memories Can’t Wait†and “Air.†The second LP comes from the Remain in Light tour, recorded in 1980 and 1981. In order to present something close to the music on that album, the original quartet lineup was greatly expanded. Added were two percussionists (Steven Stanley, Jose Rossy), two backup singers (Nona Hendryx, Dollette McDonald), Busta Cherry Jones on bass, Bernie Worrell (!) on keys, and a young Adrian Belew on lead guitar. The excitement of this material is palpable, and the muscular band rips into these tunes with more power than the originals in most cases. “Drugs†gets revamped for live performance, and “Houses in Motion kicks into high gear with a great art-funk coda. Belew is absolutely on fire throughout, especially on “The Great Curve†and “Crosseyed and Painless,†where his deranged feedback soloing has never sounded better. At this point in their career, Talking Heads were still basically an underground band; it was “Burning Down the House†that really thrust them into the mainstream, and Stop Making Sense documents their arrival as a more or less mainstream act. The Name of This Band Is Talking Heads captures a hungry band on its way up, performing with a fire that was never matched on later tours. Unfortunately, The Name of This Band Is Talking Heads remained unavailable on compact disc for years, which is a shame since it’s arguably one of their finest releases. - by Sean Westergaard MP3@320CBR Track List 1. “New Feeling†– 3:09 for WCOZ broadcast, Norther Studios, Maynard MA, November 17, 1977 2. “A Clean Break (Let’s Work)†– 5:05 3. “Don’t Worry About The Government†– 3:03 4. “Pulled Up†– 4:04 5. “Psycho Killer†(Byrne, Chris Frantz, Tina Weymouth) – 5:31 6. “Who Is It†– 1:44 7. “The Book I Read†– 4:22 8. “The Big Country†– 5:09 for WXRT broadcast, Park West, Chicago, August 23, 1978 9. “I’m Not in Love†– 4:57 for KSAN broadcast, The Old Waldorf, San Francisco, September 16, 1978 10. “The Girls Want to Be with the Girls†– 3:44 at The Agora, Cleveland, December 18, 1978 11. “Electricity (Drugs)†– 3:28 12. “Found a Job†– 5:35 13. “Mind†– 4:56 for WBCN broadcast, Berklee School of Music, Boston, August 24, 1979 14. “Artists Only†(Byrne, Wayne Zieve) – 3:49 at The Capitol Theater, Passaic NJ,January 17, 1979 15. “Stay Hungry†(Byrne, Frantz) – 4:05 16. “Air†– 4:01 17. “Love → Building on Fire†– 3:47 18. “Memories (Can’t Wait)†(Byrne, Jerry Harrison) – 3:44 19. “Heaven†(Byrne, Harrison) – 4:31 Disc two 1. “Psycho Killer†(Byrne, Frantz, Weymouth) – 5:33 at Sun Plaza Concert Hall, Tokyo, Japan, February 27, 1981 2. “Warning Sign†(Byrne, Frantz) – 5:40 3. “Stay Hungry†(Byrne, Frantz) – 3:56 4. “Cities†– 5:00 at Emerald City, Cherry Hill NJ, November 8, 1980 (1980-11-08)-November 9, 1980 5. “I Zimbra†(Hugo Ball, Byrne, Brian Eno) – 3:30 6. “Drugs (Electricity)†– 4:41 7. “Once in a Lifetime†(Byrne, Eno, Frantz, Harrison, Weymouth) – 5:57 at Sun Plaza Concert Hall, Tokyo, Japan, February 27, 1981 8. “Animals†– 4:05 9. “Houses in Motion†(Byrne, Eno, Frantz, Harrison, Weymouth) – 6:54 at Emerald City, Cherry Hill NJ, November 8, 1980 (1980-11-08)-November 9, 1980 10. “Born Under Punches (The Heat Goes On)†(Byrne, Eno, Frantz, Harrison, Weymouth) – 8:24 at Sun Plaza Concert Hall, Tokyo, Japan, February 27, 1981 11. “Crosseyed and Painless†(Byrne, Eno, Frantz, Harrison, Weymouth) – 5:58 at Emerald City, Cherry Hill NJ, November 8, 1980 (1980-11-08)-November 9, 1980; truncated version from original release 12. “Life During Wartime†(Byrne, Frantz, Harrison, Weymouth) – 4:54 at Central Park, New York, August 27, 1980 13. “Take Me to the River†(Al Green, Teenie Hodges) – 6:33 14. “The Great Curve†(Byrne, Eno, Frantz, Harrison, Weymouth) – 6:42 http://bit.ly/alWxO6
  17. Yeah, but the semaphore poses that J,P,G&R are doing actually spell "HELP" (D'on! Well I actually always assumed that it did. But looking at this http://www.anbg.gov.au/flags/semaphore.html it looks more like they are spelling "RUJD" The positions of the hands on the clock do not (KTJ?). What do they represent? Do they spell anything? Or is it just in reference to the date/time today?
