  1. When I was about sixteen I ate a mixture of speed and ritalin totalling fourteen pills and went rollerblading downtown until six in the morning. Then the cops picked me up. When they asked my name I gave them the name of a girl who was being a bitch to my sister. I couldn't give them her address or birthday so they took me to the station and put me in an interview room for what seemed like hours. I was so fucked up and scared I bit my nails until my fingertips bled. Then my mom came to pick me up. My brother came too because he wanted a tour of the police station. So after being shut in an interview room for a couple hours nearly pissing myself with fear and nerves I had to follow a cop and my brother around the station for an hour still totally sketched out on uppers.

    TOP THAT!!!

  2. A rare appearance of Andre and the Giants this Saturday June 17th at the Brantford Armouries, 18 Brant Ave (big red building by the bridge that goes over the river).

Andre is one of the most passionate musicians I've ever seen. The repertoire will be peppered with originals and covers including the Beatles, Janis Joplin, Stevie Wonder and other greats from bygone eras. The best of which by far are the originals. Andre's songs lyrically remind me of Bob Dylan, and musically a combination of the Beatles and something darker, perhaps even orchestral. Between the three members of the band there are over 70 years of professional playing experience.

Cover is $10, all proceeds go towards the wedding of Don Martin and Erica Henley (yes, this show is a buck and doe, which means you will have a chance to win lots of booze and money at the blackjack and poker tables!)

If you're coming from out of town there's lots of free crash space.

  3. I'm grateful for:

-getting my license today, nine years late

-my gene pool, i'm just like my Grandma

-being born in Canada, a rich and free country

-art, all of it in all its forms

-all the people in my life who are there for me when things suck and those that are out celebrating with me when times are good.

I am thankful for all that is beautiful in life.

  4. hey buddy....happy freaking birthday! nice seeing you last night, that'll probably be the last time you're sober for a few days!

Okay, now I'm really confused! If you saw him last night, and I didn't see you last night, are there two Prosts?

Now I don't feel guilty about the double birthday thread! ;)

    Happy Birthday alternate Prost!

  5. that's right folks

the moment we have ALL been waiting for!

George Strait is finally going to perform here in Toronto

    tomorrow night..who's in?

    Bokomom?

    Ottawa is TONIGHT

Actually, you will see my Mom there. She looks just like me but fifty-five, and still hot as hell!

  6. I seriously don't mean this in a personal way, but Diesel Dog is a bad band name. I like their music a whole lot but I used to always preface the introduction of this band to newcomers with the phrase "great band, horrible name.." And trying to explain the significance to my parents was challenging.

Good tunes but the name sounds ugly.

  7. I work on commission, which is similar in spirit to tipping. The better I am at selling the more money I make. Kind of like the better you are at serving the more money you make. It really does suck that your money isn't guarunteed. It makes planning purchases really difficult. Also, my rate of commission can change any time without my consent. And february totally sucked, nobody shops in February. Mind you, I furnished my apartment with my December commission cheque. I'm indecisive about commission. I like that it shows when I work harder, but the fact that it changes from what I originally agreed to work for sucks when the rate decreases. I also hate that dead months mean I make no money even when it has nothing to do with my own effort.

  8. Not all radio is terrible, the CBC kicks ass. I get to hear a lot of weird stuff I normally never would have found on my own, it's news is interesting and more relevant to Canadians (it is public broadcasting), the music is incredibly varied and the only commercials you hear are for other CBC programs. CBC interviews are the most intelligent I've ever heard, I find that the questions really help to reveal the subject objectively. Repeats are very infrequent and the programs change drastically from one time slot to another, it's impossible to get bored of the CBC. I love that my taxes support it, even when views contrary to my own are being extrapolated, it's great to hear a solid cross section of the mentality of a population.

    Bokonon+CBC=Heady Love

  9. Anybody on the board have much experience with Jeeps? I'll be in the market for a car within the next couple months and I really liked driving a Jeep the other day. Maybe it was the offroading, or just the thrill of successully driving standard, but holy shit do I want one! But a few people are warning me about Jeeps and it's making me nervous. Or if anyone knows of a good, reliable car, please feel free to steer me in that direction.
