i'd like to see Bjork, Peaches, Rage, Manu Chao, Ghostface, Shadow (if he plays old stuff), Explosions, Black Keys, CSS, Brazillian Girls, Silversuns Pickup moved to the Bonnaroo column and then I would make a mess on the keyboard.
if that's legit (does your buddy at work have connections), then I'm pretty happy. lots of awesome music in that lineup. there are a lot of "indie*" bands doing amazing things that you might like if you remove your blinders.** * - what a stupid label that everyone uses. ** - then again, maybe you like what you like and don't listen to anything else
Not disagreeing with that, he's a total genius, and for sure he's done acid... but... from my impressions of what I read about the album, George was in charge of the additional instrumentation and overall 'guidance', but his son Giles was doing the actual mashing-upping... I might be out to lunch on this, someone correct me if I'm wrong please...
Man, I want to go back to this festival. Great times, great bands. Fuck the Chili Peppers though. Ug. Maybe Frusciante will play a solo set, or play with Mars Volta? That would be nice.
Can't wait to see the rest of the lineup. This is just the tip of the iceberg, as Coachella has expanded to 3 days this year for the first time.
isn't creating a band name / persona / identifier one of the key things in the creative process? why wouldn't you want to keep hold of that nice and tight to the vest? I doubt Robert Zimmerman put an ad in the paper saying hey, give me a cool name... just a thought.
i heard it was paul and john's limo driver, who, when responding to a question if he was busy or not, said something about 8 days a week. maybe the limo driver sold the speed back then too.
It feels like everything in my apartment is infected with static. How do I get rid of this, it is driving me crazy!! All my clothes, my coats, my couch.... ARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG
i'll refer that question to bouche. but i don't think so. the ideal way to list a show is being done at punkottawa.com Go to the bottom of the page and follow the steps to add a show. It asks for all the proper information and is quite clean and easy. it's kinda crazy though about the calendars. there are at least 3 other ottawa sites that list shows, and each person responsible gets info from the other lists etc etc. partnerships in this area would majorly cut down on effort and would increase exposure.
They played last night to a half-empty half of the school cafeteria. I tried my darndest to get in but could not. But Pitchfork could, and there is video at their site and a review coming soon.
I can't believe no-one has picked up this story here. The best of CBC's contemporary and underground / out of sight music programs is set to be cancelled March 19. They're not attracting new listeners, so instead of repositioning the program, they cancel it? I dunno. Perhaps I'm missing something, and of course I don't understand the business of radio. But it's such a gooood program....... Best of its kind. AD
