  1. Politics forum please! I don't want no annoying politicos invading my Sanctuary! But really now, go Barack!
  2. That cake looks freaking awesome but I wouldn't even attempt making it...it would take me hours just to get the ingredients together. ;-) Here's my mom's pumpkin loaf recipe. Now I can handle making that! I brought a loaf to work today and it was gone in seconds. Pumpkin Loaf 2 eggs 1 1/2 cups sugar 1 cup pumpkin (I use the pumpkin from a can) 1/2 cup oil 1/4 cup water 1/4 tsp.Baking Powder 1 tsp. soda pinch of salt 1/2 tsp. cloves 1/2 tsp. cinnamon 1 cup flour Grease one loaf pan or 9 inch cake pan Bake at 350 for 50 minutes Enjoy!!
  3. Hear hear Sharon! Ollie e-mails me almost every day to tell me what he had for lunch and it's pretty much always negative, so then I get sad, and I tell him that I am sad, and then he says he won't tell me what he had for lunch anymore because he doesn't like upsetting me. hee hee. But it's just because I care that I get upset! Ollie loves lunchtime!
  4. I was going to buy tickets on the onsale date, but then noticed that seats are not reserved, including the floor? Do you know if floor is seating or standing?
  5. Ma chère Myrna C'est à ton tour De te laisser parler d'amour! Happy Birthday!!!
  6. Went to see Corteo last Wednesday. Loved it! Time just flew by, such an escape. Beautiful images are created by the decor, the movements, the performers. I bought tickets for $42 and when I got there, I was told that I had to go sit somewhere else...6th row, in the $125 seats due to show being taped that day...guess they were filling up the empty seats at the front. Wicked view! I so much wanted to jump on those big beds and to be thrown around in the air! In the line-up at the post office today, one of the Cirque jugglers was standing in front of me; he was picking up a package...what was it? Juggling balls. haha! He was angry to have to pay $11 duty on them. So the Cirque backed out of the Vancouver Olympics opening and closing ceremonies, which is very disappointing. I heard it's because they wouldn't be given full creative control, but some people say otherwise: http://www.cbc.ca/canada/british-columbia/story/2008/09/17/bc-vano-cirque-du-soleil.html
  7. I voted for Lisa and Vincent. I also like Nico and Arrasay, but my rule is to only vote once!
  8. Maybe he'll play "Big Dumb Sex" acoustic!
  9. Contact Jacqueline Éthier...I took Pilates with her when she taught at the School of Dance in Ottawa. She now has her own studio downtown: http://www.pilatesspace.com/trainers.html
  10. I've never been to Kingston, oddly enough. This might just be when I have to go.
  11. All right, all right, all right...so I didn't think I'd buy tickets for NIN in Ottawa, but I did when I found out that the floor is general admission. Yeah! Anyone else going? Boris is opening and they're pretty good too. I have no idea what NIN is up to lately...gotta catch up.
  12. Congratulations to you both!! When's the due date?
  13. Article in the Ottawa Citizen
  14. Here's a photo in the Citizen...too bad Ollie didn't make the paper! http://www.canada.com/ottawacitizen/news/city/story.html?id=ba3ccc72-5cfe-43d4-bb67-2223f9a5aa66
  15. Hey hey dude! Hello to the family! I tried growing eggplant one year and it didn't work at all! There was 1 purple flower and that's that. So you managed to grow some?

    BEER!!

I love that beer...exactly what I expect from an American IPA. Can't wait to have one tonight...Ollie, any left?
  17. Well, we're going, so it better be trippy. We got the $60 tickets which includes the Cirque Maroc show. Yeah, a bit pricey but a ride on the old ferris wheel might be worth it!
  18. Heavy Metal Parking Lot, my favourite short documentary ever: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0322526/ Might not be appreaciated by everyone though!
  19. Yeah man, that was a good show! It was worth reading all the tourist brochures to find out this was going on! Loved the venue (just a large tent by the old port). They also served the Unibroue beer created for the 400th anniversary of the city, and served it in the big bottle also: Mike and Sharon, you can buy this in Gatineau stores too...I gottta buy some this weekend!
  20. So I have tons of pineapple sage growing in my garden and am wondering if I should use it for anything. Knowing me, I'll probably just leave it there to die at the first frost. Have any of you ever used that herb for anything? Supposedly it grows nice red flowers in the late fall...so maybe I'll just wait to enjoy that.
  21. Yeah, how does one couterattack in this situation?? Do we just say "Grrr", with our arms in the air or something? I don't think i could counterattack!
  22. Ah, I can't make it to that tonight, but boy, did I have fun at your movie last month!! It makes for a wonderful summer night and it looks the weather is just perfect for this tonight. Have fun!
  23. Hey, maybe your doggie saw a cougar in your backyard (the animal, that is). Don't you live kinda close to Gatineau Park: http://www.capitaleducanada.gc.ca/bins/ncc_web_content_page.asp?cid=16297-16299-10170-49685-49889-49894-87405&new=yes〈=1
  24. I understood that you do get the $100,000 cash, and then half of the royalties for public performance of the Theme will be paid to the Songwriter(s), and half will be donated by CBC to minor league hockey.
