I was looking forward to this almost as much as Superball. Over the past year DbT have quietly become one of my favorite bands, and I was more than ready to Let There Be Rock!

I almost did the same thing Phorbesie. $8+ in fees on a ticket is bullshit. We know it, and they know it. I bet if spectrasonic ran this one, there would have been at least one local outlet and the show would be going on as planned.

I looked around and found the promotion company: The Concert Factory from Fergus ON. They have an email from me regarding the lack of promotion for the show, and it was cc'ed to DbT's management and agency. If they respond at all I will be sure to post it here. To add further insult to injury the automated TM phone system rang my line at 9:00am waking me out of very nice sleep.

As for the cost, I know at least 10 people that were hedging their bets on door tickets to save the exorbitant fees of nearly 20% of the ticket price. And finally to add insult to injury from the fine fucks at Ticketmaster: We’ll automatically return the ticket price plus fees (except courier) to your credit card within 7 – 10 business days.

Slow ticket sales due to lack of promotion? Surely there were a few hundred out of that large Bluesfest crowd two years ago that would have gone if they'd have known.

Where did you get that info? Its still on their website, and tickets are still for sale on TM.

Yep you're right, although it pains me to say that. I could have sworn they jammed on it a couple of times that summer before they played the song proper- but I'd have to hop in a time machine to relisten to my tapes to confirm that. Earlier this month, Birdman, notorious bettor, waged a cool two million bucks on the Miami Heat to win the NBA finals. Last night the Heat lost to the Mavs in game six, their star LeBron puttering around the court helplessly. That is, when he wasn’t benched. But maybe more of a factor in the Finals was not LeBron’s absence, but gigantic German Dirk Nowitzki’s presence. That is certainly what Birdman was paying attention to last night from his courtside seats. Moments before the game officially ended and the Mavs won their first title ever, Dirk walked off the court to have a serene moment. In his path, past naysayers and well-wishers, he breezes by an agape Birdman, who turns around to watch the MVP leave. And he watches him for four excruciating seconds. What could he have been thinking about? His money? Dirk’s undeniable grace and skill? The strange shape of Chris Bosh’s head? Birdman’s 1000-yard stare starts at five seconds in on the above video.
