  1. This movie: dealing with a call in radio show football fan is worth the hour and a half on a rainy afternoon.
  2. Sorry- I thought it was facking hilarious. Its gone now.
  3. Thats just great Sharon! A smoky bluesy Grace Potter sound to me. Do you have any upcoming shows?
  4. The Bluesfest rumor site also listed Bela and the Original Flecktones, although their tour routing indicates that Jazz Fest is more likely.
  5. The New Deal has decided that 2011 will mark the end of a spectacular 12-year career. It has been an amazing run for the band and we appreciate the loyal and dedicated tND fanbase across North America and Asia. Our individual lives have taken very different paths with family, living abroad, and other various projects. We have come to a point where the time and commitment that it takes to maintain our band at its best is no longer possible. As a group, we’ve never been known to go halfway, so we have decided to end things with a great run of summer and fall shows that we hope to be the best yet. Over the next several months, TND will return to the East Coast. The final Summer and Fall 2011 shows will bring us to many of our favourite places in the US and Canada, and we’re looking forward to finishing things off in a big way. We look forward to each and every one of these very special shows. Our fans have been fantastically devoted and supportive, and we hope to give them a final run of performances that will be truly memorable. In addition to the summer shows and festivals already announced, we expect to add a few more dates to give as many fans as possible the opportunity to see us play together one last time. Thank you! Darren, Dan and Jamie
  6. Elton John and Metallica are now rumored for the Quebec City Music Fest to be held on July 7 thru 17.
  7. Jake- I want one so this works perfectly. I just PM'ed him too. Its for Joey!!
  8. There were some very cool streams during SXSW- including a drunken backstage song with Brad.
  9. My order arrived today in good time. It seems the store is now open again: http://store.paxamrecords.com/
  10. An automatic 18% gratuity for a total of $250. Nice work Holly! Hold CTRL and use your mouse to scroll and zoom.
  11. Fuck lets all just agree on one thing: Bring in CELINE!!!
  12. Yes I agree. I'm not saying he has never appealed to them before- but to bring them in you have to put 4 or 5 artists together to really make a difference in advance ticket sales (such as Iron Maiden, Rush and Dream Theatre last year - or Mick Taylor, Yardbirds, Alan Parsons, The Zombies, Spencer Davis in 2009). Sure he was courting several scenes, but I think each year tends to have one genre that is overrepresented in comparison to the previous events, or compared to the popular vote.
  13. Tsk tsk boys you are getting soft as May approaches: A caller to a Montreal radio station claimed he bet Marty Turco, after Michael Cammalleri's goal for Montreal made it 1-0 in the first period, that Chicago wouldn't score again. When Patrick Kane(notes) of the Blackhawks tied the game, he passed Turco a $5 bill with "Habs Rule" written on it. They went double-or-nothing after the first period, and then triple-or-nothing for the third; and then, in overtime, he gave Turco 5-to-1 odds that the Canadiens would win the game. "And he took the bet!" said the caller. "When the Canadiens scored in overtime, he handed me back a wad of $5 bills and inside was that $5 bill that I gave him. He crossed out 'Habs Rule' and wrote 'Turco Rules.'" http://sports.yahoo.com/nhl/blog/puck_daddy/post/Marty-Turco-bets-fan-during-Blackhawks-Habs-game?urn=nhl-wp1867
  14. This is a total guess but with some of the rumored acts such as Mary J Blige, 3oh3!, Kanye West, Macy Gray etc. it would seem that 2011 is the year to bring in another subset of the population. We already had blues of course in many years, jam (05), classic rock (09) and, heavy metal (10) years; so maybe its time for Bluesfest to start appealing to the 20 somthing R+B fans.? I mean it makes sense if you think about it. How many new fans can you possibly cultivate if you just stick to Steve Miller, Great Big Sea, Blue Rodeo and The Hip every single year?
  15. YES just announced a tour and play in 'the general area' (New Hampshire and upstate NY) during Bluesfest with nights off on July 10 and 13. Opening act is Styx. The lineup is listed as: Steve Howe Chris Squire Alan White Benoit David Oliver Wakeman
  16. Three different guesses at the layout all in one handy flickr post: http://lsdnews.blogspot.com/2011/04/lsd-trips-exclusive-phish-super-ball-ix.html
  17. That was a rumored setup, as is the one I am about to post- but this "new" version seems more legit to my eyes.....
  18. There are two separate shows coming up at Lansdowne that I cannot find on sale info for, other than through ticketmaster. The shows are: Pixies April 16th Drive By Truckers June 18th Does anyone know of a ticket location where the ticketbastard and shipping charges won't be applied? Such as Record Shaap, an outlet at Lansdowne I don't know about etc.

  22. Have you ever seen the video of his arrival on stage that night? Kurt chose to mock the rumors of his death by appearing in a wig/ hospital gown and entered on a wheelchair:
