  1. So far my birthday month includes: Phish Okkervil River Titus Andronicus Joel Plaskett Emergency Yeasayer Drive By Truckers They Might be Giants
  2. It might be a dry venue, but it won't be a dry show: http://cascadedesigns.com/platypus/wine-preservation/platypreserve/product These puppies enabled us to take 2 40 Oz'ers into MSG three nights in a row!
  3. It all depends on who promotes the show and whether or not they think its financially feasible to pay for the temporary event license. I just emailed my contacts and told them I know 4 guys that will make it worth his while by spending large amounts on hooch.
  4. We can make if fun phorbesie! I'll be lining up at the doors around 5pm with a full cooler, hitting Pizza Pizza or Yang Sheng for some picnic food and hitting the front row with snoots. I think that the Truckers rule as much as Bronson sucks- so I am calling this one a draw.
  5. This is fantastic news! What is the capacity of The Starlight?
  6. Just Darien for me. I'm still hoping for that Watkins announcement!
  7. Wow does that cover ever remind me of some of the photos from The Band- Music from Big Pink!
  8. If you guys haven't seen Taking Woodstock before you go, its probably worth the hour and a half viewing time. Good movie that mentions many of the places surrounding Bethel..... Watch out for those goobahs from Monticello ;-)
  9. If those prices are for a g, 1/8, 1/4, 1/2 and an ounce; then I was way off as I thought weed was a bit more affordable at these dispensaries? $23 a g for Charlie Sheen. Wow! I read an interview with Seth Rogen lately where he stated that he now knows he has made it because there are strains of Pineapple Express popping up at these shops.
  10. RUMOR: Red Rocks is apparently out and Phish is doing a two night stand at Dicks Sporting Goods Park in Denver around Labor Day weekend.
  11. I think that its totally plausible that they play more in the 'summer'. Maybe this means a mid August to mid September swing a la 1999 and 2000- but I really have no idea. The fact that there are no Deer Creek or Alpine shows yet this summer, makes me think they are definitely not done. Plus they still haven't announced Watkins ;-)
  12. I just kicked the computers ass! 6 out of 8 to start....
  13. The golden age of the interwebs, it was for sure.
  14. Great vid, thanks Esau. So great but so sad.
  15. This sandwich: [X] - Delivers [ ] - Does Not Deliver WOWOW!
  16. Definitely start with Retriever or Cobblestone Runway (some copies of CR also come with a bonus disc of his debut Grand Opera Lane). Blue Boy was produced by Steve Earle and though VERY down tempo is quite good. Time Being started strong but it hasn't held up over time, I find it too Adult Contemporary after a couple of years of listening. Destination Unknown is a great pairing with Don Kerr (former Rheostatics etc. drummer). If you are ever perusing used cd bins- I've found Ron's cds in the strangest places for $2 or $3. Fack I just realized I missed his show last night in Kingston.
  17. "I've always been a pretty big fan, certain songs they get scratched right in."
  18. My how things have changed! The first time I saw The Low Anthem they were opening for Surprise Me Mr. Davis in Burlington in 2007 (?). They were fantastic that night too- and have eclipsed the Barrs, now taking the headlining slot.
  19. Yep, back in school we used to have a great place in Waterloo. I can't remember the name now, but it was a part of the Huether Hotel. We didn't get to make the recipes though- they had a menu and you basically ordered and picked it up two weeks later. The only problem I ever had with the process was the storing of 100's of bottles in a fridge at once- and keeping all of the damn bottles BT HOLE FREE until the next batch. The last time I did it the menu listing was for Goosehead. It tasted EXACTLY like Moosehead but only cost about 0.30 per 500 mL bottle.
  20. If I was going on Phish tour I'd have 1000 tees printed up with this image and make a killing:
