  4. Hi guys, I am invovled in organizing a series of speakers on Climate Change and thought that I would post the open events here in case anyone would like to attend. Here is the invite we sent out. Sustainable Prosperity will be hosting an event at the University of Ottawa with Prof. Mark Jaccard, from the School of Resource and Environmental Management, Simon Fraser University, on November 26th, 2010. He will speak on the topic of “Climate Policy in Canada: Issues in Regional Impacts and US Coordination†followed by discussion. His talk will build on his forthcoming C.D. Howe Institute paper “Regional impact of climate policy in Canada,†(to be released November 25th, 2010). The paper uses economic modelling to address the question of what is the link between different designs of carbon pricing and different regional impacts. Location: University of Ottawa, 55 Laurier Avenue East, Room 4101, Desmarais Building, Ottawa, ON. For building location and parking see http://www.uottawa.ca/maps/ Date & Time: Friday, November 26th, 2010. 12:00-1:30 pm. Drinks and light snacks will be served. Please RSVP to sarah@sustainableprosperity.ca by November 23rd, 2010. The event is open to all, but we ask that you RSVP to confirm a space. We hope to see you there. Biography: Mark Jaccard develops and applies simulation models that assess sustainability policies for energy and material flows in the economy. A professor at Simon Fraser University since 1986, he took a leave to serve as Chair and CEO of the B.C. Utilities Commission from 1992-97. He serves on the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (Nobel Peace Prize in 2007), currently a lead author for the special report on renewable energy. He has served on the China Council for International Cooperation on Environment and Development, most recently as co-chair (2009) of a task force on sustainable use of coal. From 2006-2009, he was a member of Canada's National Roundtable on the Environment and the Economy. He is currently convening lead author for sustainable energy policy in the Global Energy Assessment. In 2006, his book, Sustainable Fossil Fuels, won the Donner Prize for top policy book in Canada. In 2008 he was named the BC Academic of the Year by the Confederation of University Faculty Associations and in 2009 he was named a fellow of the Royal Society of Canada. www.sustainableprosperity.ca
  5. My Recipe, which changes a little everytime I make it...slowly perfecting it. 2 cups of WW flour 1/2 cup of unsalted (opt) butter melted (sometimes use half olive oil) 2 tsp baking soda and powder 2 eggs beaten (Sometimes I only put in one) 1/2 cup of brown sugar 3-4 mashed bananas some vanilla 1/4 cup milk Add butter, sugar, vanilla and eggs and mix well, add bananas, mix, add dry ingredients. Mix well. Because I use ww flour I normally add some milk at the end...about a 1/4 cup Then sometimes I add: chocolate chips peanut butter chips walnuts pretty basic, the peanut butter chips make it extra special. I bake it at 350 for 50 minutes, and an extra 10 minutes with a sheet of foil over the pan. I double the recipe normally and use 3 eggs.
  6. I am just looking, thinking about starting one...Thanks
  7. Hey, I was wondering who here has a food blog and if you wouldn't mind sharing? Or/And if you have some favourite food sites/blogs could you post them? Merci!
  8. Sustainable Prosperity needs help making up an e-Xmas card. We can pay, but I'm not sure what the rate normally is for a little project like this. If anyone here or if you could suggest someone awesome, that would be great! (I will have to work with this person so no douchebags please). Cheers.
  9. My friends used to call it jungle juice.
  10. I had 2 thanksgiving dinners, my favorite was with my brother, 11 portages from any motors boats or houses, sitting beside a waterfall. Potatoes, Gravy, Broccoli and corn, Bannock and breaded tofu. All cooked on a fire.
