  1. What a wicked lineup! D.Rangers are no slouches either!
  2. You can use OiNK.. You don't *have* to download the complete albums.
  3. It's all good Davey Boy. I'm not gonna get too picky. (Though I bet we could rock a full album about strictly people being on fire!) I'll say, preferably people but if you're keen on something else so be it.

Neil Young - Last Of His Kind (aka The Farmer's Song) Played at all the Farm Aids.. Lyrics: Well I hate to say the farmer Was the last of a dying breed Living off the land And taking what he needs Don't say much for the future When a family can't survive I'd hate to say the farmer Was the last of his kind. In the struggle for parity Not one man's voice can sound Cause the foundation of the conglomerate Is firmly in the ground. Yeah, they want to feed the world But for power and for greed Then they'll cut off the supply Until they get what they need. Well I dreamed I saw a dust bowl Where the farmers used to live Earth was flying through the sky It had nothing left to give Tractors were burning On the Whitehouse lawn Just woke up one morning And the farmers all were gone I hate to say the farmer Was the last of a dying breed Living off the land And taking what he needs. Don't say much for the future When a family can't survive. I'd hate to say the farmer Was the last of his kind. Don't say much for the future When a family can't survive. I'd hate to say the farmer Was the last of his kind.
  6. I don't know Woodhands (I do know they need a new press photo but Junior Boys and Koushik on the same bill makes for one solid made-in-Hamilton bill! I'd love to be there. Junior Boys' show on December 26th was the most memorable show I saw while I was home.
  7. happy birthday marco, and thanks for making up the 12 song album game, it has brightened my days.
  8. Pat Metheny is coming to Seoul as part of the first ever Seoul Jazz Festival (which consists of only 3 different groups and a total of 5 or 6 performances). He's playing with bassist Christian McBride and drummer Antonio Sanchez. The cheap seats are $50. Anyone out there seen Metheny play before? I'm considering going.. On the plus side, "glass of red wine will be given to every audience member for free, which, according to the event's organizing agency Private Curve, is supposed to help them better concentrate on music." oh korea.

I always liked The Rolling Stones' tongue a lot.. I've never much liked that Pearl Jam one. Ollie, what band's that? Here's two that come to mind:

  12. just noticed your birthday cake there. happy birthday man! i hope hong kong is treating you well.
  13. Who has seen this movie? I believe it came out last year. It stars a guy named Ryan Gosling, and its about this grade eight history teacher in Brooklyn.. He's a junkie, but a good teacher, and its about his relationship with his students, particularly one girl who plays on the b-ball team he coaches. The girl (Shareeka Epps) does a great job with the role of the girl, and Gosling's damn good too. Actually I just noticed he was nominated for an Oscar for this performance. Anyway, its the best movie I've seen in ages and I've watched it twice this week. The tone of the movie is just perfect. As my friend put it, "It never sold out, nor went for cheese". Its a sad tale overall, and very moving. Broken Social Scene supplies most of the soundtrack. The song "Shampoo Suicide" is cranked during the movie's climax and it is so brilliantly placed, its a flawless scene. So please check it out! I don't usually get so excited over a film. I'm curious to hear how other skanks liked it. www.imdb.com/title/tt0468489/
