  1. Oh yeah! The gig at the Carleton on Aug 14th was another highlight!
  2. That was in the spring. We're talking summer here! Mind you, the summertime lovemaking is sweet and frequent.
  3. My summer was just great, and I only took 5 vacation days! highlights: - my granny's 100th birthday party - bbq-ing almost every night - the weather (love the heat) - concerts: Yes, Frampton, Phish, BOC, McCartney, and everything at Bluesfest. - Wabafest - relaxation time in the back yard - cycling to work almost every day - work was pretty good too! - Season 7 of Entourage
  4. Good luck on the tour! You guys are gonna need a lot of drugs to maintain that pace. I'll try to catch you here in the capital, but since it's on the Thanksgiving weekend, I'll probably be away.
  5. I have never heard anything so disgusting!! People are into Dream Theater?! There's a dude at work who's nutso about them. He keeps insisting I should get into them. He thinks just because I made him like the Truckers that I now have some sort of obligation to listen to Dream Theater. I youtubed them once and almost puked. He wants to make me a mixed CD of all their best stuff. I want to kill him. Kill him dead. I wish I could take the Truckers back from him' date=' but now he's downloading them so it's too late. [/quote'] Big news today in Dream Theater land posted on jambase, no less How's your co-worker taking the news?

    Hay!

Freak accident kills former member of ELO
  7. Ordered my tickets this morning for the Nov. 13th show in Atlantic City. Sweet seats in the center section, 15th row. Gonna be a good one!
  8. I ordered my tickets today. Those "reserved" tickets in the first 10 rows for $6 extra were sold out. Did you get a ticket Velvet?
  9. I like Dream Theater. I also like Rush. Both bands seem to take a lot of flack around here. I cannot stand the music of Prince, nor that of Michael Jackson. It amazes me how much love there is for those two on this board. To each their own. The world would be a lot less interesting if we all liked the same music. Phish and The Grateful Dead are amongst my favorite bands of all time, and I think there likely will be bands that can generate the same type of scene and excitement in the future. Only time will tell.
  10. Thanks Kev. I'll check out these vids and recordings at home tonight.
  11. I think I'm in for this show too. Tickets are a little on pricey side, but I'm sure it'll be worth it!
  12. I've used ticketweb mail delivery a few times before, never a problem. My Benevento tix arrived just a few days after I ordered them.
  13. It took a couple of listens to get into it, but I'm really digging The Final Frontier - much more than the Star Trek movie of the same name. I received my Iron Maiden t-shirts in the mail too. It took less than 2 weeks to be shipped from England.
  14. Thanks! this might help me get my share ratio back up to a respectable level.
  15. I'll be at the Ex tonight for The Stampeders.
  16. I guess it worked! 1 FINAL FRONTIER IRON MAIDEN #1 two weeks in a row
  17. This story was beautifully recounted in the movie "The Widow of St. Pierre". Awesome tales of your travels, Velvet. Love to see some of your pictures too.
  18. I bet Freak By Night would buy one! Au contraire! Last summer I was at a cottage party (coincidentally, hosted by an old friend of StoneMtn's) when one of the locals passed around a platter of small sausages with toothpicks in them. Nice looking hors d'Å“uvres, I thought. I bit into one and almost threw up. It was bear meat. My first only taste of bear meat. I thought it was awful.
  19. Bears are more of a sausage ingredient. That said, I will sign the petition.
  20. That's some great analysis there Mr. Taper!
  21. I never wear earplugs. I'll probably regret that some day. Every show I've ever been to sounded great. I like standing directly in front of people who are shorter than me (which is pretty much everyone). Ha Ha! Just kidding. I used to like to get right up front, but I'll only do that now if there's room. Generally, I'll situate myself around the soundboard area. I figure that's where you'll find the best sound. As YATS said, if it's too loud for me, I'll move towards the back. But I have a high threshold of what's loud.
  22. I'm surprised this was announced so soon after the end of the summer tour. Surprised too that there are none of the more traditional big city dates. I might be in for Atlantic City. The Allmans have announced an Atlantic City date for Nov. 13th, which I'm more likely to attend at this point. Still plenty of time to mull it over before tickets go on sale.
  23. They played it at SPAC last summer, a little bit of it anyway. But it's pretty much dead it seems.
