  1. If that's true AD, I'm withdrawing my support for this project!
  2. You are 100% right Booche. It DID suck. I'm sure the new stadium will rectify all of those problems.
  3. What Ollie really means is "North side sucks!"
  4. Was the Strandherd Bridge really canceled DEM? I had not heard that. I'm satisfied with the results of the vote for Lansdowne Live. I think, with the amendments and conditions that AD listed above, that it is a good plan. The Lansdowne Live group of people were not involved with the Daly site.
  5. I'm too old to rage, but my ticket did arrive today. See y'all there!
  6. [color:purple]As you and Mike well know, Sharon, I have absolutely no interest in food.
  7. As a fan of CFL football, OHL hockey, large outdoor concerts, and perhaps in the future, soccer, I fully support the Lansdowne Live proposal, and I hope it gets approved and built ASAP. My only concern is the extremely poor public transit to the site. That said, in the past I drove to countless CFL games and never had a problem finding free parking within walking distance.
  8. Your best bet would be to venture outside of the city, where light pollution is minimal. Gatineau Park might be a good spot.
  9. Hands up - who's gonna be there at 0900 hours?
  10. It's a longshot, but I thought I should put this trade offer out there to see if anyone's interested, before I look into other options. Your extra Syracuse ticket for my extra Friday night Albany ticket. PM if you're interested.
  11. The exclamation mark this site inserts into the word "shit" has fucked up the link you posted bouche! Wasn't Dima one of this guy's first 1000 followers?
  12. If the solo career doesn't work out, at least he can fall back on modeling his grisly visage for a new line of catcher's mitts. "Brand Tyler", indeed!
  13. I played volleyball and basketball in high school, and hockey and baseball outside of school. I was a star in basketball but I was horrible at hockey (not a strong skater). Hockey however is my favorite sport as a spectator, and I rarely watch basketball.
  14. Speaking of cheap tickets, I have a pair for Thursday's game against Tampa. I won't be able to go due to the passing of my mother. You can have my pair of tickets (sec 303, row C) for real cheap! PM me if you're interested.
  15. My mom passed away yesterday in the morning after a long illness. The question remained, do I go to the Metallica show tonight, or do I eat my ticket and stay with my family? I remembered that my mom had bought the "Binge & Purge" box set for me for Christmas many years ago. She would have wanted me to go, so I did. "Fade to Black" was very cathartic for me.
  16. Matt, I certainly hope that you're going to wash down those healthy meals with a large slab of your homemade pie!
  17. That's gold Booche! For the win, indeed! I just re-read Gail Zappa's article. It makes no sense whatsoever. Has she been smoking Frank's ashes?
  18. Enjoy! No doubt Mike's baking a special cake.
  19. Thanks for that setlist Kev. We arrived at the club in the middle of Bad Man Walking (made a little late due to bickering about whether or not we should park in what was clearly a no-parking zone). After a few songs we found some open space close to the stage. Met up with quite a few Ottawa folks who made the quick trip to Montreal for the night. The band was really cookin' last night. I totally enjoyed the show, every song was awesome. The new bassist Jorgen Carlsson is easily their best since Woody. He playing style is similar. The encore of Leonard Cohen's "Hallelujah" was beautiful - just Warren accompanied by the organ player Danny Louis. We were wondering if this song was a one-off for the Montreal crowd, but they do play it from time to time. The final song "Stay with me" was performed with incredible energy. The vocalist from Montreal band The Respectables guested on this one and he evoked Rod Stewart perfectly. All in all, a fantastic show, although I expected them to play a little longer. A quick stop at Schwartz's for smoked meat sammies and then St-Viateur for bagels and we were on our way home.
  20. See you there Rob! Can't see them starting right at 8 in Montreal. Last time they played there they didn't start until after 9.
  21. I'm definitely getting the shot. I've been on 3 late-November Phish tours, and have gotten deathly ill after two of them ('98 and '03). This year's gonna be different.
  22. She's staying home. Oh wait a minute, I thought you said...... Yes, the new album "By a Thread" is supposed to be out today.
  23. I've been following the H1N1 vaccination debate with some interest. I was debating this subject on the weekend with somebody dead set against the vaccination. Ironically, this person was smoking cigarettes while pontificating about how vaccinations can kill you with their adjuvants and mercury. I hope those who are so adamantly against the vaccination are told to go home and suck on some vitamin D when they they show up at death's door in the emergency room after succumbing to the virus.
  24. I'll be there, with my entourage. Looking forward to it!
