  1. Funny, too, that his set was pushed back originally and then delayed to accommodate the glow in the dark show, but then it ended up starting to get light out while he was playing.
  2. Lame all-around. I had the webcast on in the background for a good chunk of the day Sunday, and most artists made some mention of it. I do think it bears repeating, though, that Pearl Jam went over by an hour. I've been a PJ fan for years, but that's not a cool move when you're at a festival and there are other acts that need to go on after you (that said, I wish I'd been there for their set - epic stuff from the looks of it).
  3. Saw them last month in Victoria and it was an awesome show. They played "the hits" (minus "I Will Survive"), but I didn't get the impression that they were simply going through the motions. Plus, they gave away a tree to someone in the crowd. Good times.
  4. Nice little shot at Kanye, there. I guess he was supposed to start at 2:45 last night but didn't go on until 4:30, supposedly because it took longer than expected to set up his glow-in-the-dark spectacular. Funny, his set time was moved and he was 2 hours late going on so that he couple play in the dark, and he ended up playing as the sun came up. Oops.
  5. Seeing them in front of a crowd that size reminds me of how lucky we were to have such an intimate show in Montreal last year.
  6. Looking forward to some sweet Yondery goodness.

  8. Are The Grateful Dead and New Riders Of The Purple Sage one band or two? http://the-roadhouse-viander.blogspot.com/2008/06/grateful-dead-evening-with-grateful.html Aloha' date=' Brad[/quote'] IIRC, at that point NRPS featured Garcia, Hart and Lesh. If MMJ has an opening act on NYE that features three of MMJ's own members, I will gladly stand corrected.
  9. I am just thinking back to every time I've seen a show or tour billed as "An Evening With..."; they have always been one band events. Maybe I'm just being too nit-picky about three words, but it was my understanding that they are used deliberately. Plus, I would think that any band that would be leverage for ticket sales would be announced early. If we're talking about whether or not they're going to add on a small potatoes opener closer to the date of the show, then it really doesn't have any bearing on the idea of whether or not they are big enough to fill the Garden. I would think that if they want another band to add weight to the bill, they would have that in place as early as possible.
  10. Yeah, I've always understood "An Evening With" to mean it's a one-band thing. Besides, if they were relying on heavy-hitting support I would think they would want that in place and promoted as soon as the show was announced.
  11. Kev you beat me to it with the Colbert clip - that's exactly what I came in here to post. I don't know when the last time was that I laughed that hard at TV.
  12. I dig MMJ, but this seems rather premature. Didn't WSP have a half-empty barn when they played there a few years ago?
  13. Factoring in the Canada Day weekend, I just might be able to swing this from the Left Coast. My little lady is back East and she and I have been talking about it the past few days. Hope to see y'all there!
  14. Maybe he just wants to forget the '06 New Year's Run, but I thought Albany was killer.
  15. Ahem....Victoria show? Drop me a line when you're back in town, brah.
  16. Most hilarious band name ever?? I think that "Hulkster Oils Up His Daughter's Ass" is preferable to "Hulkster Oils, Up His Daughter's Ass".
  17. Good on them. No matter how many times it happens, it always aggravates me when shows don't start at their advertised time (I'm speaking mainly of bigger arena/theater shows, not necessarily smaller shows in bars). The worst is when shows start way later than advertised and a short first set is followed by an unnecessarily long set break. I know I should be used to it, but it annoys me every time.
  18. Wow, so uncool (the crash, not you). Glad to hear that it's not as bad as it could have been, and hoping you're back on two wheels soon.
  19. Cheers, EsauBama13. Hope it's a great one for you, brother.
  20. Agreed. I was there last year and was really sorry to miss it this time around. I really like the fact that the two stages are set up side-by-side, so you can set up shop in one spot and catch tunes non-stop all day. The size is great too. Definitely wish I could have been there throwing down with you and Ryan, Rob.
  21. Damn, Levon is givin 'er. Watching this now I find it hard to believe that they wondered if he'd ever be able to sing again. Right on!
  22. I guess the boys are looking to make a few extra bucks on the side, eh?
  23. WOOT WOOT! Nicely done, brah.
