  2. My art has been commended as being strongly vaginal which bothers some men. The word itself makes some men uncomfortable. Vagina.

    Where's the Any key?
  5. So after a round-about journey from Michigan I've just arrived back in Victoria. What a top-shelf festival. I've been to my share of festies over the years, and out of all the major ones I've been to this one was hands-down the best in terms of lay-out, lines, cleanliness and all-around logistics. I had a hard time remembering that it was only a first year event. As for the shows, Bisco was a pleasant surprise, Yonder with Fishman was a great one and an acoustic mini-set by Drive By Truckers was an unexpected early highlight. I'm pretty wiped right now, but hopefully I'll have something more thorough up in the next couple of days. Peace, Hart
  6. Serious condition? Wow, that's really bad news. When I first heard about this I assumed that it was strictly and orthopedic injury. It will be cool to see Jeff Coffin play with them at Rothbury, although like skelter said I wish it was under different circumstances.
  7. I would imagine that a Bluetooth ear piece would solve that problem. I know that in other jurisdictions, you can be talking on the phone so long as you're not holding it.
  8. Here's hopin' it's One Big Holiday for ya. Happy birthday!
  9. I don't know see how Kanye's people being uncool would entitle PJ to run over, personally. In fact, if they did it deliberately to spite them, then I think that's even worse than just going over because you're caught up in the moment. As for the "show must go on" comment, like it or not, the glow in the dark features are what Kanye's current show is all about. To go on without it wouldn't have made any sense, especially after he was moved to accommodate the effects (and yes, I realize this became a moot point after the sun came up). Say what you will about Kanye not belonging, the promoters wanted him and invited him and knew what sort of show he was bringing long before Saturday night.
  10. I saw an interview with Kanye fans the next day and they said it was a pumpin' show and worth the wait. I'm sure we could go back and forth with hearsay, especially since neither of us were there I'm a big PJ fan and think that they are a much better fit for Bonnaroo than Kanye is. That said, if they want to play for as long as they feel like, let them put their own festival on. True, the fans were happy, but I think it was inconsiderate of them to play over when there was another artist waiting to load in. The fact that people were enjoying their set is irrelevant, in my opinion. For any multi-band event to be successful, the artists have to cooperate.
  11. Agreed. It has really frustrated me that people seem all to eager to overlook the fact that Pearl Jam went over by an hour. You give that time back, and he's only an hour late getting on stage, which isn't that out of the ordinary. I also think that the Superfly folks have been a little too happy to sit back and let Kanye take all the heat. His response probably didn't help his cause any, and of course he should have said something during the show (even if it would have caused him to break character) but I can't blame the guy for wanting to stick up for himself at this point.
  12. it's actually Phil Leotardo from the Sopranos. I stand corrected. It was a small picture
  13. What is Steve Martin like as a real estate agent?
  14. It's really funny to read the updates after the original post in Booche's link and see the evolution of an internet rumour, and how it can seep into the mainstream media. I would be psyched if it were true, but all of this reunion talk of late seems to have stemmed largely from off-the-cuff comments in a couple of interviews (Trey and Tom Marshall). There have been too many "false alarms" in the past couple of years to get hopeful over anything but an official announcement, in my opinion.
  15. It's a pleasure! It was as simple as posting a link. (And Bouche, your delay and subsequent sincerity make me feel whole).
  16. No worries guys. I figured some folks around here would appreciate it.
  17. This was upped by someone on PT. I grabbed it yesterday and it's so damn good I had to share. It's in MP3 format, but the quality is quite good. 18. In no particular order: 1. Water. Can't be said/drank enough. 2. Exercise. The good thing about exercise, even if it's light or moderate, is that it ups your metabolism with every session. Therefore you benefit long after you've stopped sweating. Even a nightly walk can work wonders. Hell, even not nightly. Do what you can and try to stick with it. Setting unrealistic goals right away is a fast-track to failure. 3. Park farther away, take the stairs, walk instead of drive, etc. 4. Eat at regular intervals. Skipping a meal will slow down your metabolism and therefore cause you to gain, rather than lose. Three average-sized meals and snacks along the way is the way to go. Never let yourself get hungry and make sure your body always has something to process. Apples are probably the best natural food (from what I've heard) at getting metabolism going. 5. Don't try and be too strict. Again, that's a fast-track to failure. Good luck. A few years ago I decided to stop being so unhealthy after writing the book on beer, pizza and inactivity for a long time (I had an awesome time at university). Starting with subtle changes and avoiding quick-fixes (no Atkins, pills or anything like that) I really managed to turn things around, and have now started competing in triathlons. That said, I still enjoy me some beer and pizza, just not several nights a week. Have fun with it - you'll be surprised how much mileage you get out of even the smallest changes.
  19. Cheers, brother! Happy Birthday to the only other member of the Vancouver Island Skank Society.
  20. I saw Maceo a little over a year ago and the dude completely wore me out with a three-hour show. Highly recommended for the uninitiated.
  21. It's been a ridiculously long time since I've seen a band that I used to see all the time when I lived on the other coast. As I started typing this I realized that I leave town the day before they play here (Victoria). That is definitely disappointing.
  22. God, I hope not. If the change the official spelling to My Morning JACKET, I'm going to jump ship faster than George Bluth.
  23. I wasn't saying PJ was entirely to blame, but I think amidst all of the Kanye hating it's too easy to forget that the fiasco seems to have started when they went considerably over. And while the set may have looked completely assembled by 3:00, there is a very good chance that more was happening after that out of the view of the crowd. Setting up a show like that is, of course, a massive undertaking that involves way more than propping up a big screen on the stage.
