  1. Where are you getting this stuff?
  2. Now's the time to buy Speeza (and dump Havlat) if you know what you're doing in fantasy pools. Buy low, sell high.
  3. That was the show that convinced me to never spend another cent on DMB. But yes, that jam was the Flecktones was just incredible.
  4. I'm pretty sure Eric MacInnis will be taping both Saint John and Halifax this weekend, Blane. If not, I'll make sure they both get taped.
  5. Not a terrible performance per se. But it's going to be impossible to break out of a goal scoring drought with that few quality shots on net. I've never been much of a fan of Speeza and his minor league moves, but now he's just pissing me off. Two plays in particular last night: 1) he's got the puck with no one in between himself and Theodore, instead of shooting he throws a blind pass into the slot to two Avs defenders, Preissing was pinching, the Avs go down the ice on an odd man rush and score; 2) scramble in front of the net in the dying minutes, Speeza gets a hold of the puck and tries another behind the back pass, intercepted (of course), and the Avs alleviate the pressure. I was throwing shit at the TV by that point.
  6. For those that don't know... This is going to kick some serious ass!!
  7. Thanks guys! Oh what a day I'm having. I slept in, got to work late and then spent the better part of the day on the phone with lawyers. Nope, no coffee and bailey's here. The excitment doesn't stop there, now I get to go home and tend to my sick wife. I get to see a weekend of Slip shows, so there's some hope on the horizon. Is that the second Rockport memory in as many days? I've been rocking the beard since Europe in August. That's some good shit right there! ha!
  8. We saw Sarah here last month, she's touring with a bluegrass type line-up to promote the new album. Awesome, intimate show. An interesting note for the former Kingstonians here - Spencer Evans tore it up on piano and clarinet!
  9. Hey, our mom's got knocked up on the same day. Cheers!
  10. Is the question "Why is there such non-acknowledgement for new bands" referring to here, on this message board? Or in real life? This board is full of old fogies who grew up on BNB, Nero, the Fat Cats, etc and aren't interested in any of that new-fangled noise the kids are playing today. Seriously though, do you really expect to draw a new crowd based on a couple of message board posts here? In reality, the bands I mentioned above built up a fan base and then many of them migrated to this website. Not the other way around. There's lots of good suggestions in this thread. Keep playing, build yourself a following, invite them join this site and take it over. Don't worry about the crusty old-timers. Another piece of advice that's typically handed out is to join the community discussion, don't just post advertisements.
  11. I haven't played there (or been there) in a few years, but Clark Hall Pub rules.
  12. The east coast leg of this tour just got cancelled. booo...
  13. I haven't the foggiest idea what you're getting at dinghy. It's a shame I wasted all that money on Sens season tickets from 1998-2004.
  14. If nothing else, these guys are turning their misfortunes into great copy. http://www.cbc.ca/canada/new-brunswick/story/2006/10/16/divorcees-tour.html
  15. Thought I'd throw this up for a hard-working band from Moncton NB, that I don't know personally, but write some fantastic honky-tonk/outlaw country songs. The Divorcees Apparently, their rhythm guitarist and guy that sings about half the material quit the band by leaving a note on the van windshield as they got gas at the NB-Quebec border on their way to the first show of the tour. The band has soldiered on. If that ain't 'country', I don't know what is. Absolutely dominant performance last night. On the other side of the spectrum, how about that Cassie Campbell on colour commentary??
  17. Nice job Aaron Downey. It's easy to land punches when Sheldon Souray has your opponent tied up for you, isn't it?
  18. You think those choices sent a message? I sure hope so.
  19. Happy birthday Harper! It was about 16 years ago that we rode our bikes down to the Kingston Centre flea market to buy hockey cards from some guy in a van. That was rad.
  20. Yes, I need one of those! 2-channel pre-master volume (master volume was added in the mid 70s as a response to customer demand) Marshall with no reverb.
  21. I'm in the market for a 2x12 cabinet that can handle 100W. Although I'll likely remove 2 of the EL34s and run it at 50W, because it's way too loud. Right now I'm running the Rhodes into it, through a pair of old Traynor PA speakers.
  22. I can hold a grudge with the best of them!
